or her 'cave' as she calls it,
o p e n s.
She stops speaking.
Shuts up immediately.
"Harmony? Orsai?"
It's Suki.
"Have you seen Miria's book?
The one about the twelve princesses?"
Her timid voice
matches her entire being.
"No Suki, you should probably
ask mum about it.
She's downstairs."
The 'get out now'
hangs in the air like a
hung corpse,
pungent and unignorable.
"Oh...okay."
The door closes behind her.
There's a beat of silence,
then,
"Then the maiden places her
fair hand on..."
