A/N - I am currently in the year 2024 for this story
*Thursday August 29th - Malcolms POV
I am about to leave my house to catch a flight to LA. I am going to LA because my UCLA tour is tomorrow. Mackenzie and I have texted a little bit but we haven't talked to each other all summer. Mackenzie is in LA at a theater camp near UCLA. We talked before she left Rosewood for LA and she told me that this isn't a breakup but a break. My dad is driving me to the airport because on Saturday I am flying from LA to NYC for my NYU tour on Tuesday.
"Call me tomorrow after the tour and tell me how it went?" My dad said
"How about a text?" I asked
"A text will work also." My dad said
"I promise to call or text you tomorrow" I said
"Text me when the plan lands and again when you get to your dorm room." My dad said
"I'm only going to be gone from home for 2 days." I said
"I know but I want to make sure that you are safe." My dad said
"It's the other side of the country dad not the world." I said
"I know but you are only 16 and I just feel better knowing that you are safe." My dad said
"It's a university tour so I think I will be fine." I said
"Is Mackenzie still in LA for the theater camp?" My dad asked
"I'm not sure seeing as we broke up." I said
"I thought you kept in touch during the summer." My dad said
"A few texts but nothing really in the last few weeks." I said
Mona's POV
I am walking into Philadelphia international airport and I happen to see Ezra in the drop off line. I walked up to Ezras car so I could talk to him.
"What are you doing here?" I asked
"Malcolm has a university tour at UCLA tomorrow so I just dropped him off for his flight." Ezra said
"Wow, I didn't know he was looking into university already." I said
"Malcolm doesn't need to apply anywhere for another year and he wouldn't start for 2 years but I think it's never to early to start touring universitys." Ezra said
"What other schools besides UCLA?" I asked
"Malcolm has a university tour at NYU on Tuesday. Aria thinks he is only interested in UCLA because Mackenzie is there right now for theater camp." Ezra said
"I'm picking up Madison from Mike in LA so I wonder if Malcolm and I are on the same flight." I said
"How long are you staying in LA?" Ezra asked
"Until Monday afternoon." I said
"Malcolm is flying from LAX to JFK on Saturday morning. Aria, the kids, and I are driving to NYC tomorrow night because we are spending labor day weekend with my mom." Ezra said
