A/N - I am currently in the year 2025 for this story
*Sunday January 5th*
Malcolms POV
Mackenzie and I are sort of friends now after seeing each other in LA. She texted me that she wanted to meet up at the mall for lunch. My parents don't know we are friends so I had to come up with an alternate plan.
"Can I take Jayde to the mall with me?" I asked
"What do you need at the mall?" Aria asked
"I need a birthday present for dad and I want Jaydes help since we are buying one gift from all the kids." I said
"If you need an idea get a personalized wallet or something." Aria said
"Thanks, I didn't think of that gift idea." I said
"Do you need some money so you can take Jayde out to lunch?" Aria asked
"Yes or I can just use my debit card and you can pay me back later." I said
"Ok well have fun at the mall with your sister." Aria said
Jayde got in the backseat of my car and I drove to the mall.
"Listen we are looking for a gift for dad but I'm also meeting up with Mackenzie and you can't tell our parents." I said
"Secrets safe with me." Jayde said
"Are you sure?" I asked
"Yes as long as there is something in it for me." Jayde said
"Is lunch a good deal or do I need to buy you a build a bear?" I asked
"Depends if I have to see you and Mackenzie kiss or not." Jayde said
"Mackenzie and I are friends so no kissing." I said
"Boo because I was really sad when I didn't get the build a bear I wanted for Christmas." Jayde said
"Build a bear it is then because I can't risk you telling anybody about this." I said
Mackenzie texted me saying she was going to be late so we went into build a bear first. Jayde got the build a bear she wanted. I payed for it and then we left the store to meet Mackenzie for lunch.
"Hi Malcolm." Mackenzie said
"Hi Mackenzie. I really hope you don't mind me bringing Jayde." I said
"It's fine this isn't a date or anything." Mackenzie said
"Can I ask how things are going between you and your boyfriend or is that a bad question?" I asked
"I think we should talk about that a different time because I have a few things to say that a 9 year old shouldn't hear." Mackenzie said
"I need to go to the bathroom." Jayde said
I showed Jayde where the bathrooms were and walked back to the table.
