A/N - I am currently in the year 2025 for this story
*Monday February 3rd*
Toby's POV
After saving Aria's daughter Jayde I was offered my job back at Rosewood PD. Today is my 1st day back to work. I could tell my dad wasn't happy when I told him I was taking the offer from Tanner but it's my career not his. My coworkers had a welcome back party for me and I even got a few gifts.
"Are you going to be home for dinner?" Spencer asked
"Yes, why?" I asked
"I thought maybe we could go out tonight since the restaurants were to busy last night." Spencer said
"Just us or us and the kids?" I asked
"us and the kids unless you want it to be just us." Spencer said
"We can include the kids since it's not valentines day yet." I said
"Well I will see you tonight then." Spencer said
"I will text you when I get off work and then we will decide where to go." I said
Hours later I was off of work. I met Spencer and the kids for dinner.
"Did work go well today?" Spencer asked
"Tanner has me on desk duty." I said
"Why?" Spencer asked
"She said I had to work my way back up. You know desk duty then traffic cop before going back to the position I had before we left Rosewood." I said
"I'm sorry." Spencer said
"It's fine but I wish she would have told me that before I got to work this morning." I said
"You have the experience Toby so you really shouldn't have to start at entry level police work." Spencer said
"Try telling Tanner that because she wouldn't listen to me when I said something to her." I said
"Sorry but no, I had enough interactions with Tanner when I was a teenager." Spencer said
"You can't help me out just once Spence. I do a lot for you so you owe this to me." I said
"If I talk with Tanner that may not even make a difference." Spencer said
"I get it that Tanner has never been nice to you so don't worry about talking to her." I said
"I would if I really thought I could make a difference Toby." Spencer said
After dinner we went home. Spencer and I put the kids to bed before having the rest of the night to ourselves
"I just realized I never asked how your day was Spence." I said
"Chloe has been texting me like all day." Spencer said
