10 | Please Come Back To Me

It's been roughly 17 days since the accident and Harry hasn't moved from his spot next to Matthew's bed since he arrived on the day of the accident. All the people that had worked with Matthew had flown out to see the ailing actor including Shelby, Harry's ex.

Harry was glad that the person responsible for the accident had been charged and sent to jail but at the same time he just wanted Matt to be okay and to wake up. To make this nightmare go away. Harry knee that he had to do something to get Matthew but he still hadn't thought of a way to do so, and he knew that his friends were already working on it for him which he was grateful for since he had no mind to do anything not yet anyway with Matt the way he was at the moment.

Now, as Harry sat by Matt's side everything seemed to have frozen in place as if time itself had gotten stuck in time. As much as Harry wished for time to rewind it just didn't work. He had gotten so used to hearing Matt's voice that it pained him to think that he may never hear it again.

"Mr. Shum?"A voice called as the door to Matt's room opened and he looked back to see the doctor walk in, "I have Matthew's latest brain scan and the result shows that the swelling had gone down"

To say that Harry was frustrated with the results would be an understatement. It's been two weeks since the incident and Matt hasn't shown any signs of waking up. He even managed to get a hold of the best doctors in the field to help Matt. He didn't care if he had to spend the last of his money to get Matt better. Every injury that Matt had sustained from the accident had been fixed. His wrist was pinned and cast, his lungs inflated and deflated on their own and his cuts had been stitched up. But nothing has changed. He was still sleeping when he should have woken up already.

"Then why is there no change?" Harry asked looking back at Matt's unconscious body, "You said that everything has been dealt with, he's breathing on his own so why is he not waking up?"

"At this point it's all up to Matt, Mr. Shum. We've done everything medically possible for him but somethings take time" the doctor answered

"How much time doctor?" Christina, Matt's, mother asked as she held her son's hand on the other side of the bed as Vivian, Harry's mother, stood behind her son, hand on his shoulder

"There is no way to tell exactly. Most comas don't last longer than  2-4 weeks" Doctor Jensen answered

"Most comas?" Vivian asked

"There have been cases where patients have been in comas for longer than that estimated period of time. I've had witnessed many patients being in comas for months or years before waking up" the doctor said and Harry swallowed the knot that had formed in his throat as he looked down at Matt's peaceful face and couldn't help but let his tears fall, "Mr. Shum I must stress that those are rare cases and all Matt's signs are pointing to his recovery"

"He'll wake up then won't he?" Harry asked not taking his eyes away from Matt and both their mothers and doctor looked at him with sympathy

"All of my medical knowledge point that he'll wake up. He's a strong and young man so don't lose hope, Mr. Shum, he has that on his side so it's all up to him now"

Later that day when he had managed to take in everything from what the doctor had told him and their mothers, Harry had managed to convince both women to go back to the hotel and get some rest and that he'll call them with any news. He was sure that his co-stars were already informed of the the results of Matt's tests. The last episode of the final season of Shadowhunters has aired and fans had been supportive and have been sending Matt get well wishes and prayers which he was grateful for. Right now he needs all the prayers he could get.

And if he was completely honest with himself, he just needed alone time. Alone with his thoughts, worries and with Matt. So as the day got darker, Harry walked to his bedside and took a seat on the plastic chair with a blanket on his lap and just sat as close as he could to Matt's bed and just held his hand.
