39| The fans are going to be in for a surprise

Harry, unknown to Matt, had decided to have a small gathering to celebrate his birthday. The actor had everything sorted out and was just waiting for him and their 10 month old —it was crazy for the pair to think that they've been parents for nearly a year but a year filled with nothing but happiness and joy—to return home from the store ( Matt claiming they needed diapers, milk, new clothes for little Levi and food) while Harry staid back waiting for the arrival of their closest friends —Dom, Kat, Isaiah, Alisha, Nicola, Alberto, Eme and her husband, Shelley and Esther who was Matt's former girlfriend a few hears ago before he came out and has since moved on and was now a married woman with a two month old baby girl—and their family as from Matt's parents and sisters to Harry's parents and sisters.

The front opened to reveal their former Shadowhunters co-stars walk in all carrying various dishes making Harry shake his head with a chuckle

"Didn't I tell you that you didn't need to bring anything and that I had it all covered?" He asked making them all grin as they carried the dishes outside to the backyard where there were tables set all around covers in black and white table cloth. There were vases filled with white rocks inside them holding gold balloons with white cursive writing that said Happy Birthday.

"You went all out" Dom whistled as they took in the scene before them and he smiled, "Just like Matt had done on yours"

"Think it's too much?" Harry asked

"Of course not, Harry, Matt will love it" Eme said giving him a warm reassuring smile that had him sighing in relief, "when is he do back?"

"He should be back in about 20 minutes" he replied and she nodded

"Do you need help with anything else?" Kat asked but he shook his head as the rest of the guests arrived all bringing gifts for Matt before taking their seats across the three long tables in the yard. Conversation soon filled the yard as Harry went back inside to see if Matt and their son had arrived and he ran back to the hard telling everyone to settle down since Matt had arrived the went back inside to greet his husband who raised an eyebrow at Harry setting the bags on the floor

"Care to explain why our driveway is filled with cars?" He asked but Harry only smiled walking over and taking Levi from him

"It's a surprise now leave that there and come with me" Harry said as he carried Levi and grabbed Matt's hand before pulling him towards the yard making the taller of the two huff but as soon as they walked out a bright smile filled his face as he took in the sight before him laughing as their loved ones all yelled "Happy Birthday Mattie!" as soon as they saw him. He turned to Harry and shook his head the smile never leaving his lips and his eyes twinkled,

"When did you have time to do all this?" He asked and Harry just smiled

"I've had it all planned out for the past week so when you left this morning on your daily morning runs I went to the store and bought all of the stuff so when you went out again today taking Levi with you it gave me time to decorate." He replied

"And the food?" He asked

"It was catered in advance and were brought by after you left" Harry stated making Matt shake his head but before he could say anything else, Dom walked out to the pair and pulled him into a bone crashing bone wishing him a happy birthday which then had everyone else doing the same before Harry and Matt's mothers' both came over pushing them towards the table taking over the food much to their protests.

"So have you guys thought about how you're going to celebrate your one year?" Alberto asked as he took a bite of his chicken

"We're actually planning on going to Costa Rica for a few weeks before going to Paris" Matt answered
