Jo's POV

The next morning I join Dean and Rory as they eat breakfast. Rory had ordered eggs, while Dean got pancakes,

She sat there eyeballing his food. Finally he caught what she was doing and trained her. We see Lorelai pass by again.

"That's 12," Dean says.

"Mmm. Two more and she'll come in," Rory says.

"I don't know. She's been walking back and forth out there for 20 minutes, and she still hasn't made it to the door."

"Yeah, but look how much closer to the building she's gotten," I tell him.

We watch as she goes back.

She's like a shark out there.

"Why don't we just bring her something out?" he asks.

"No, she and Luke have been in this fight for too long. She's got to do this," Rory replies.

"You're cruel," Dean tells her.

"Tough love, baby. Oops, I think she's coming in."

"How can you tell?"

"She's got shoe-sale face on."

"Okay, I did it. I'm in," Lorelai says.

"Good girl," Rory says.

"That wasn't so bad. Tool a while, but not so bad. Wait. Why are you eating?" she asks.

"You took 30 minutes to come in."

"But I'm here now, and hey, I'm like cheese."

"What?" Dean and I ask.

"She gets better with time," Rory replies.

"Ah," Dean says.

"Sorry, gouta, we got school," Rory tells her.

"But-"

"Order breakfast, and I'll leave you the paper."

"No, but-"

"I'll see you tonight."

"Dean, Jo, don't leave me."

"You'll be fine."

Rory puts her hand on Lorelai's shoulder.

"You'll be fine," she repeats again.

Rory heads for her bus, and Dean and I head to school.

--

Today is Sookie and Jackson's wedding. I've gotten close enough to Sookie and the Gilmores that I'll be attending the wedding.

Luke was nice enough to let me borrow his truck to go buy a dress. When I get back I see Kirk.

"Hi, Kirk. Well, don't you look fancy."

"Thank you. I bought this for Sookie's wedding. I'm hoping to meet a woman."

I don't know what to say, so I nod and give him a smile.

"Good for you, Kirk."

I head upstairs. I drop my stuff on my bed and turn around. Immediately my eyes lock on my twin.

"Jess?"

His eyes glanced at me and then back at Luke.

"So? What do you think?" he asks.

Luke stares at him, thinking.

"Things are gonna have to be different, Jess," Luke replies.

"I know."
