Stage 1: The Search

The search stage involves a strong sense of yearning and an acute awareness that something is lacking in your life. Even if you've never really thought about soul mates and twin flames before, this is the stage at which you begin to believe that there really is a perfect match out there for you. In all likelihood, you'll doubt this feeling at first; you may feel unsure about what you should do with it, but at the deepest level, you will find it impossible to shake the conviction that you will meet "the one".

Sanaa ☯️

The sounds of waves crashing against each other rang through my ears as I laid on the warm sand with my eyes closed. The winds grew heavier and the cheery bird chirps decreased as the time passed by. The surroundings confirmed my thoughts - I was at the beach. The question that lingered on my head was "How did I get here?"

My train of thoughts was abruptly halted by the water splashing me. My eyes instantly opened and I rose immediately, dusting the sand off my skin, hair and the knee length white dress with flower prints I had on. The sun slowly disappeared below the horizon, creating a red hue in the sky as the waves began to seize. Sunsets always fascinated me.

"Mom? Dad? Ama? Kai?" I called out as I mindlessly looked for my family. Their disappearance made no sense to me and they wouldn't have abandoned me at an unknown beach for any reason. I walked further until I saw a boy sitting on one of the rocks, staring afar. My heart pace sped up as I stood a few feet away from him, studying him.

His smooth brown skin and ebony fade glistened as he propped his lean figure in a comfortable position. He pursed his plump, pink lips which made him to unintentionally accentuate his chiseled jawline. The sun's last rays highlighted his honey eyes, causing him to gently flutter his long eyelashes against his gleaming cheeks. He was dressed in a fitting white tshirt and khaki shorts.

My heart began to beat faster and my body tingled as he turned around, acknowl my presence. His warm smile filled my body with content which I found odd for the first encounter. I've never felt any intense feeling like this before. Handsome wasn't enough to describe him. He was inhumanly attractive.

I smiled back and his stunning eyes lit up as if I did the most attractive gesture on Earth. On instinct, we gravitated towards each other, slowly filling the gap between us. We stood parallel to one another, studying each other's features once more.

Suddenly, I heard a crash in my head, causing my body to collide on the sand.

My body jerked awake, still tingling from the intense feelings consuming me.

"It was a dream," I whispered softly to myself. "I knew that my family wouldn't abandon me."

I left my bed and quickly used the bathroom before heading to the kitchen where the crash came from. My younger brother by three years, Kai stood with a horrified look as he glanced at the floor where the broken cookies along with the jar dangerously laid.

"You tried to steal cookies at 2 AM?" I asked, glancing at the stationed clock on the wall.

"I was hungry," he mumbled, avoiding eye contact.

"Mom's going to kill you."

"You're right about that," she replied, startling us. She grabbed Kai by the ear, leading him out of the kitchen. "Go to bed, Sanaa. I'll clean it up when I'm done with him."
