Brian's POV:

Talking to Cole already made me feel better. But when I checked my phone, I got an even better surprise.

Heeyy. Ofc I saved ur number! U gave it to. I'm good, just..lots of stress. You wouldn't know the hardships of being a senior, u lucky junior-

I kept texting her throughout the whole day. It was great to finally have someone to talk to who shared the same passions as me. The former leader of the debate club in her school had recently quit, and now she was the first ever junior to be the leader of the team. I really couldn't wait to see her again.

"Who are you texting?", Will asked me as he wiped his mouth. The smell of soap from the shelf next to him was burning my nose. "Just Aisha", I shrugged while replying. I leaned against the wall, my bag still on the floor. Will gave me a questioning look. "Who?" "Aisha", I repeated. "The girl we met at that debate competition thing in Washington", I explained. Will just shrugged. How annoying. If he didn't care, why did he bother to ask. "I don't know", he said. I frowned. "Hey, you do know. I literally told you who it is. You spoke to each other. Don't ask if you don't care", I snapped. Will turned towards me and wrapped his hands around my waist. "Sorry babe, but you know there's really only one thing I remember from Washington", Will grinned.

Embarrassed, I turned my head to the side. I couldn't look at him when he as so close. He was too damn gorgeous. Will kissed my cheek. Then his lips traveled to my neck. God, I could never be mad at him. The cutting sound of the bell ruined the romantic vibe. "Shit, I'm late", Will muttered. He walked to grab his bag at the other end of the closet. He turned his body towards me. "Do you wanna go first?", he asked. I smiled. "No, you go first", I told him. "Seriously, I have history, it's chill." Will nodded before opening the door, looking around. Then he was gone. The door slammed hard into place as I waited a minute before I too walked to class.

I couldn't help but fantasize that Will would one day grab my hand in front of everyone. And we would walk down the halls. And no one would dare say anything. And if someone did, we wouldn't care. Because we had each other. It was a silly dream, but every time I watched a couple walk down the hallways, or someone being on a date in the cafe, I couldn't help but wish that was me and Will. I was pretty okay with coming out, but it was obvious Will wasn't. But a part of me couldn't help but think that maybe I wasn't worth coming out for.

Maybe one day I would have a boyfriend that would come out, or already be out. And we would be able to be in a real, public relationship. But I didn't want a future boyfriend. I wanted Will. And more than anything, I wanted Will to want me. I wanted him to be in love with me.

Later that day, I walked past Will in the halls. He was alone, and I tried to say hi, but he brushed me off again. It was starting to annoy me. He could at least pretend to tolerate me.

"Why are you so avoidant at school?", I asked him when we were alone in his room. "I just don't want anyone at school to suspect something." "But you can at least pretend we're friends?", I sighted. Will rolled his eyes. "If you want me to say hi to you in the hallway, fine", he sighted. I grimaced. "Forget it", I spat out.

We laid there in a moment of awkward silence before Will asked me if I wanted to come this weekend. "I can't", I sighted. "Look, if this is about not greeting you at school-" "It's not", I rolled my eyes. "I'm not that petty", I frowned. Will quirked an eyebrow. I rolled onto my back. "I'm hanging out with Cole this weekend." "The whole weekend?", he asked. I nodded. "We're having a sleepover." Will shifted and turned to look at my face. "You're having a sleepover with Cole?" I rolled to my side to look back at him. My hand brushed over the blanket. "He's having some problems right now, I'm helping him", I tried to reassure him. "Wait..are you doing this?", Will gestured between us, "with him too?" I jerked back. "What the fuck, no!", I glared at him. "Sometimes I need someone to talk to", I said defensively. "Like what?", Will said annoyed. "Like you. Like us", I said.

Will's gaze darkened. "You told him about us?", rage filled his voice. I hurriedly sat up. "I-I know you said it was a secret. But I kinda talked about us before our agreement." Will got to his feet and I did too. "Listen, he won't tell anyone-", I tried to reassure him. "I think you should leave", he said. His voice was cold as ice. He wouldn't meet my gaze. I sighted. "Fine", I said, grabbing my jacket. I hurried down the stars, smacking his door as I left the house.
