Your third year of high school is almost over and in two weeks' time you'll have to say goodbye to Rakuzan, the second home of which you hold a lot of memories. You believed to spend this last period at peace (exams aside), but that was until today: the p.e. teacher announced a prom for all senior students on the night of the last day of school. Your eyes immediately lit up: you love proms, with the romantic and fairytale atmosphere, the beautiful dresses, the music and the coloured lights... It's a pity that the only person you wish to go to prom with will never be your date, though. Just like any other guy, actually. You're not the one who stands out very much, so the only people who talk to you are the few but loyal friends you managed to find during these years.

When the school bell rings you grab your things and walk through the hallway to the lockers, to change your shoes and go home. You put your backpack on the floor and bring the bottle to your mouth to take a sip, when suddenly a guy crashes into you. The sip of the beverage goes down the wrong pipe and the rest drenches your trousers and shirt.

"Oi, get out of my way!" – a tall and beefy guy roars, one with a sketchy and scary aura that you want to avoid like the plague. You're surprised to find someone like him in a school like Rakuzan and for a while you don't know how to react, like a frightened deer in the middle of the road.

"You bumped into her, definitely not the other way around." – another voice coming from behind your back suddenly declares.

"Huh? Who's this midget right there? Are you looking for trouble?!" – he continues, rolling up his sleeves.

As you turn you see that the boy who stood up for you is none other than Akashi Seijuro, the most perfect guy that lives on this planet. A stunning physique, extremely deep eyes, a sweet yet determined soul and a brilliant mind all lodge in one body.

"I want you to respect her." – he firmly says getting close to him, without fearing the height and muscle difference. Right, you forgot to mention the courage of a lion.

The sketchy guy is about to talk back, but after pointing his eyes in Akashi's ones he immediately stops. His legs waver and he falls to the ground like a ton of bricks, to then stand up again and leave with his tail between his legs.

"Are you alright, (Name-san)? Are you injured?" – your saviour asks. Even though you've known each other for three years you've never really talked, so him remembering your name surprises you a lot.

"No, I'm fine."

You manage to answer him without embarrassment dominating you, but obviously it couldn't last long. After taking a look at the tea stains spread throughout your uniform, you immediately spot a huge yellowish splash on your white gym trousers, right where it shouldn't be. Great. Now that you have to walk home for twenty minutes in such conditions not only are your hopes to go to prom completely destroyed, but the same can be said for your reputation. You'll have to change school two weeks before the end. Or maybe it's better to change country... Palau republic doesn't seem that bad...

"Your uniform is dirty, let me help you."

'What?! Is he really going to help me?! Is he really avoiding me the cost of a one-way ticket to a godforsaken place? Calm down, (Name). Calm and cool.' – you try to repeat to yourself.

In the end you can't help but accept the care of your saviour. He lends you his jacket to tie around your waist and then leads you to his locker. After inserting the combination he opens it, pulls out a school uniform and gives it to you.

"It's my spare uniform, I always leave it here in case of emergency. It should fit you, so wear it."

It's useless to say that the idea of wearing your crush's clothes makes your heart pound.

"Don't worry, Akashi-san! You don't need to go this far for me!" – you answer, surprisingly without stuttering.

"It's not a problem at all, take it."

"Thank you very much, then." – you say with a bow that hides your pink cheeks.

You head to the restroom and change your clothes: both the trousers and shirt fit you, just like he had said. You put the dirty uniform in your backpack and leave the bathroom ready to go home.

"It looks very good on you, (Name-san)."

You believed he had already left, but when you turn Akashi has stayed there waiting for you.

"Oh, thanks!"

You smile: it's always heart-warming to hear sweet words.

'But, wait. AKASHI SEIJURO HAS JUST COMPLIMENTED ME? ME?!'. An epoch-making day to mark on your calendar.

As you're still trying to conceal the shock, the boy offers himself to walk you home. Of course you seize the opportunity and during your walk you have, maybe today for the first time, an actual conversation with the boy you like. Your already high standards about the heir of the Akashi family aren't contradicted in the slightest: second by second he becomes even more your ideal boyfriend, the perfect mix of everything you look for in the other "piece of the puzzle". This beautiful moment, that you wish could last forever, ends when you reach your home's door and you see him walking away. Oh, how beautiful could it be to be a part of his life...

It's the following day and, just like any other morning, you walk to school and to the lockers. You put there everything you'll need later, included the bottle - that you decided to fill with water from now on to avoid unpleasant accidents. After all, there won't always be Akashi to save you from embarrassing moments.

"Good morning, (Name-san)."

As the saying doesn't go, you speak of the angel and the aureole appears. Already figuring out what he wants from you, you immediately look for it.

"Good morning, Akashi-san. I brought your uniform, washed and ironed at my best; here you are."

"Thank you, but I won't take it until you accept these."

Your face lights up: the most popular boy of the entire school is in front of you with a little bunch of roses and a smile printed on his face. As you're still processing the situation that is unfolding in front of your eyes, he drops the bomb:

"Would you like to go to prom with me?"

For a few seconds you stand still, completely stunned at the question, while a background chattering rises and intensifies, just like the whole school is talking about you two. Surprise then leaves place to joy: you grab the roses and accept his invitation with an enthusiastic heart.

"Thank you, (Name-san). I'll be there at eight, okay?"

"Perfect, thank you very much!" – you answer bowing.

The bell makes you come back to the usual school life, but it's just temporary: not a single note has been written on your notebooks during classes, just hearts, flowers and lovey-dovey words while your mind explores the universe of incredible possibilities that might come true. During lunch you sit on the roof and stare dreamily at your roses, until you realize something: you can't dance. Like, you cannot. In all of your mental movies you and Akashi danced together, taking for granted that you were able to do it, but that Friday night you definitely won't be dancing in your head: Akashi is surely extremely good at it – as at anything he does – and you can't make a poor figure with him. There's no alternative, you have to learn at least the simplest dance moves fast enough. Your first idea is to watch infinite videos on youtube, but that wouldn't help. You need to actually practice with someone, to simulate a real situation, but with whom? You think and think about the right person until a name seems to fit perfectly.
