Chapter 10 - Suzie, Do You Copy?

Mike bikes up to Starcourt mall and his friends who were waiting for him by the entrance, approach him.

"You're late." Lucas says.

"Sorry." Mike says.

"Again." Lucas says.

"We're gonna miss the opening." Will says.

"You guys are complaining about me being late but where are Rudy and Gemma?" Mike asks.

"You know where they are." Max says, rolling her eyes.

"They went inside as soon as we got here." Will says.

Mike groans, disgusted.

Right on cue, Rudy and Gemma exit the mall, holding hands.

Their friends walk up to them and shake their heads when they see both their hair is a mess and Gemma's neck is covered in hickeys.

"Oh, look who finally showed up." Rudy says, making Gemma chuckle and Mike roll his eyes.

"Come on." Mike says and he and everyone else hurry into the mall.

"Let me guess, Mike. You were busy." Lucas says before making kissing sounds.

"Oh yeah, real mature, Lucas." Mike says, rolling his eyes.

"'Oh El, I wish we could make out forever, and never hang out with any of our friends.'" Lucas teases.

"Lucas, stop." Max scolds, holding back a chuckle.

"Will thinks it's funny." Lucas points out.

"Because it is." Will says, still chuckling.

"Yeah, it's so funny that I want to spend romantic time with my girlfriend." Mike says, throwing his arms up.

"I'm spending romantic time with my girlfriend." Lucas says, wrapping his arm around Max.

"So am I." Rudy says before giving Gemma a kiss.

As everyone rushes down the escalator, they bump into a few people.

"Watch it!" A woman says.

"Yeah! Watch it, nerd!" Lucas' little sister, Erica says.

"Isn't it past your bedtime?" Lucas asks.

"Isn't it time you died?" Erica asks, making her friends laugh.

"Psycho." Lucas says.
