Siph maintained eye contact with Zhongli for a tad too long, realizing that she was the embodiment of the disaster. She should have never accepted the deal knowing this, but if it wasn't her, it would have been someone else. It pained her to see the world fall into ruins that she loved so much with her own hands. She was ruining the sandcastle that she made on the crossing of land and ocean and there was no such way to turn it back to how it used to be. This whole world of Teyvat from the beginning was too full of mystery, too full of broken people and those who seek power on days to no end.

She turned to the sky, to the stars that were still not visible in the daylight, trying to engrave them into her mind like it would be okay. There is nothing to worry about, everything will work out. It always does, why wouldn't it today? Or tomorrow? Or the day after? It is a game with a happy ending, right?

___________

Zhongli was sitting at the same place Xiao appeared a few days ago. At the very same chair and his hands crossed, supporting the weight of his head. His thoughts were too heavy, and he wasn't sure what to do with them.

It hasn't been long since she came here, not even a year. Yet, Murata is using her like a marionette. She is utilizing her power to manipulate and destroy. It's would not be wrong to assume that she perhaps is collaborating with Tsaritsa. Tsaritsa the Archon who is bound to destroy the world to make a new one, where they are trying to utilize one of the most powerful Archons to achieve that goal. Why did they need Siph? What is her use? It doesn't make sense.

"Mr. Zhongli," someone called him a few minutes ago but his thoughts were too loud and intervened with his hearing. "May I come in?"

Ganyu walked in with few papers in her hands, carrying those lofty documents from the Jade Chamber that is now soaring high in the sky once again.

His Adepti was speaking to him in regard to the growing deaths, but Zhongli's mind was too much to consider. Will he perhaps need to intervene with this city once again? Will it be another cataclysm that is about to destroy the city?

"Mr. Zhongli?" Ganyu once again addressed him. "Are you not feeling well?"

He shook his head lightly as she pulled him away from the thoughts. "Not at all, thank you for your concern. Where were we? Ah," he continued as he took a closer look.

For now, he will wait. He will see what Murata is about to play on her podium. Fortunately, waiting was his type of game.

Her hair was close to lightest shade of grey, platinum on the ends, and a magnificent crystal, delicate crown sitting above her head. Her eyes were those of ice and her clothes were that of ruler with a fur coat around her shoulders.

The ice crystals were swirling around her like butterflies as her presence was powerful yet bearing, all heads were lied low before their Queen.

"Your majesty," the crowd said simultaneously. Those were the voices of many but there were only ten up at the front. Her ten Fatui Harbingers, represented by Pierro at the front.

"Pierro," her voice sounded cold, hardened by the hardships she went through. There was no longer gentle warmth, all is left is painstaking cold tone.

"Yes, your majesty," he slightly bowed the head forward to show attentive listening.

Her eyes were set on him, "Did you bring the gnosis?"

His head bowed lower, apologetically. The mission failed and she knew, she just wanted him to feel the shame and her disappointment. He couldn't say anything for himself.
