Driving is something that gets easier with practice.

As long as you have a fearless heart, just treat it as a game of bumper cars.

At least, that's how Xiu Xian thought about it.

But Crownslayer clearly didn't share the same sentiment.

The lupo in question wiped her nosebleed, her tone devoid of any emotion. "Xiu Fei Fan, from now on, every time you slam the brakes, I'll cut a piece of flesh off your body. I mean it!"

"I don't want to either," Xiu Xian said as he drove. "Look at how chaotic the battlefield is. If I drive blindly, wouldn't we crash into our own comrades?"

"Then do you know how many Ursines you've saved with your sharp turns?"

"Dodging, just dodging our own people," Xiu Xian muttered. "Good karma come from philanthropic actions, so let's consider it a virtuous act."

"Shut up!" Crownslayer was seething with anger. "Why do you have a bullshit excuse for everything?"

"How about I go up there and you come down here then?"

Crownslayer shivered, recalling how Xiu Xian said he doesn't know how to use the machine gun. "No, now it's just me suffering. If you come up here, you'll probably end up killing the entire Reunion! I'll give you one last chance. If it doesn't work, get out of the car!"

But this time, Xiu Xian didn't respond.

"Hey, I'm talking to you!" Crownslayer didn't understand why her usual calm demeanor had vanished in just a few hours. This newcomer had ruined decades of her training and discipline.

"Hey! I'm talking to... shit!" Crownslayer was about to continue her questioning when the vehicle suddenly veered in a direction and accelerated, crashing into the nearby wall with a loud bang.

Crownslayer, once again hit her head on the mounted machine gun with a loud bang.

"You're dead!" Crownslayer, paying no mind to the bump on her head, said, "You're finished, Xiu..."

Before she could finish her sentence, she was suddenly pulled into the vehicle by Xiu Xian.

In the next moment, a fireball descended from the sky and crashed fiercely into the spot she had just been.

The explosion was so powerful that it flipped the armored vehicle!

If Xiu Xian hadn't pulled Crownslayer down, both of them would have suffered severe consequences from the impact.

"Let's go!" Xiu Xian kicked open the deformed door and pulled Crownslayer out of the vehicle.

Just as they stepped out, they saw a man walking out from around the corner. He had a scruffy beard and held a staff that resembled a bottle of vodka.

An arts caster!

The man in front of them wore a uniform, with a few stars on his shoulders.

Xiu Xian didn't know what rank that represented, but he knew that this man... was dangerous!

"You two are pretty good," the scruffy-bearded man said as he rubbed his staff, smiling in a half-mocking manner. "You managed to get hold of a Special Ops armored vehicle. Was it stolen or forcibly taken?"

Crownslayer had already drawn her weapon and cautiously watched the man in front of her. She had also sensed that he was not easy to deal with.

Xiu Xian squinted his eyes, wearing an expression of righteousness, but his words said otherwise. "If I tell you, can you spare our lives?"

"..."

"Are you begging for mercy already?" The man looked at Xiu Xian, smiling in the same half-mocking manner as before. "Well, it depends on my mood. But anyways, you guys probably hijacked this car, right? What did you do with the people inside? Killed them?"

Xiu Xian sneered, "If I tell you, can you spare our lives?"

"Interesting, interesting." The man looked at Xiu Xian with surprise. "I've seen plenty of Reunion members and plenty of people begging for mercy, but you're the first one to do it while pretending to be so righteous."

Crownslayer tightened her grip on her weapon. "Can't you show some backbone?"

Xiu Xian looked at the man, as if he didn't feel any shame in begging for mercy, but rather, he was seeking an answer.

The man shook his head. "Unfortunately, today you will both die."

Upon hearing this response, Xiu Xian's tone changed abruptly, and he said with disdain, "Useless! Trash! Worthless! You don't even have the courage to do this?! How dare you step onto the battlefield!"

Crownslayer was initially infuriated by Xiu Xian and was about to be driven mad. But after hearing his words, she became dumbfounded.

Something doesn't seem right?

Not only did she feel that something was off, even the man's mouth twitched slightly.

"I recall that it was you who was begging for mercy, right?"

"Shut up! Do you not feel shame!" Xiu Xian spoke like he had the moral high ground, looking at the man with contempt in his eyes.

"Why would I???" The man's previous nonchalant expression vanished, replaced by annoyance. "Are you intentionally trying to provoke me, kid?"

Xiu Xian snorted. "If I tell you, can you spare our lives?"

Crownslayer was dumbfounded. It was the first time she had seen someone begging for mercy in such a righteous manner!

"It seems like I've become your plaything!" The man's face had completely darkened. "Die!"

With a low shout, the staff in his hand emitted a bright light, and three fireballs shot straight toward Xiu Xian and Crownslayer!

Xiu Xian and Crownslayer swiftly dodged in different directions, but all three fireballs headed straight for Xiu Xian!

With an explosion, one of the walls Xiu Xian dodged behind was blasted open, leaving a large hole.

Xiu Xian remained unfazed. He opened the communication device and said, "Got the aggro."

Crownslayer was surprised. Was this guy using himself as bait? But she knew there was no time to think about that now. She lowered her stance and lunged like a cheetah toward the caster!

In an instant, she reached the caster's side. However, the next moment, a ring of fire suddenly appeared around the caster out of thin air!

The sudden appearance of the firewall made Crownslayer quickly withdraw her attack, but from within the firewall, a tongue of fire shot straight towards her face!

She swiftly twisted her body, narrowly avoiding the attack, but suddenly her body trembled, and she let out a muffled groan.

On her arm, a crossbow arrow was now embedded.

She quickly went behind cover and took out her communication device. "Sniper, you go deal with it."

However, to her surprise, Xiu Xian replied, "You go handle the sniper. This guy has set his sights on me. I'll take care of him."

"You?" Crownslayer's voice was filled with disbelief. "Are you capable? Although this guy is a caster, he clearly excels in martial arts as well."

"Don't worry." Xiu Xian's voice, on the other hand, was confident. "Unless he's made of steel, he will die today!"
