Just Like You
She looked into her eyes,
White like the cloudy skies.
She summoned her courage
Enough to make her say,
"I wanna be just like you."
The older was so surprised,
She had to reach for them ear buds.
She had never heard such words,
Nor did she expect the unexpected.
She looked around her and asked,
"Why so, your dreams so black?"
She had no hope in herself.
She told the younger her,
"I'm not the person to look up to."
"It's not of the material things,
But of the struggle you've had.
You've loved me through the bad,
You have one that I admire,
Hope."
