THERE HE WAS...

THERE HE WAS

I lay on the king-sized bed,
Wrapped in a silky lace
But barely any clothes.

I heard the footsteps growing,
My heart pounding
And there he was.

He seemed uncanny but
My pain would still be familiar,
I thought.

I withdrew the silk lacing,
The way I had to before
And waited for his orders.

He stood in silence and
All of a sudden,
He asked me to get up.

I was baffled, wondering if
He was new to the game or
Wished to try something new.

Slowly, he slid off his coat
With his eyes gazing at me.
A cold sigh.

Again, he asked me to get up
And I did the same.
Denying was never my dominion.

Handing over his coat to me,
He called me a friend, something
I didn't expect at all.

A friend? It's been ages
Someone called me by the name.
I felt so miserable.

Wondering in confusion,
Was I not beautiful enough?
Or was I not up to the mark?

The man stood before me,
Ignoring the pleasure of my body.
Was he really a man?

He then asked my name and
I was unable to recall it.
It was years they used my name.

I smiled at how they used to call me
An angel, darling and so on
Without meaning any of those.

The frustrated me yelled out,
"Do what you are supposed to,
I've had enough for the day."

And to my surprise,
He laughed aloud.
I was even more confused.

The guy was a riddle that
I was unable to solve
And then I decided to quit.

I wrapped myself in the sheets,
Leaned on the bedpost
And waited for time to pass.

He flumped on the floor
And kept staring the void
I had in my pouring eyes.

I tried to sneak into his heart,
He caught me and
We cracked a smile.

Oh my god!
Wasn't my flesh tasty enough
For a demon to feed on?

Approaching me, he whispered,
"Are you good at running?"
I stared as he continued.

"See, there are woods around
And a world beyond. So get up and
Catch me if you can, Zara..."
