Ava barely twitched as they injected her arm with the trial serum. Delta Brandon had objected to her participating in today's secret trial. But there was no way she was going to subject her soldiers to any trial drug or allow any new security protocols, that she herself hadn't tried first. So here she was naked in a secret location field tent, already undressed and wrapped in a blanket, ready for her shift.

After leaving Lily to her video chat, Ava had rushed to her security meeting.

"Delta Ava, what a pleasure it is to finally meet. Your reputation precedes you, and it is honour to be able to work with you" said the Redwood Delta, Brandon, as he outstretched his hand to shake with Ava. Ava shook his hand as they sat down to discuss the latest new security protocols Redwood had developed.

Redwood had discovered that humans had no way of detecting real wolves from shifters in their wolf form. The only way they could tell a werewolf apart from an ordinary wolf, was when they shifted back to human form. Apparently, the CBC was going out and hunting any wolves they could find, shooting them with darts filled with a special serum that could force an instant shift. If the targeted wolf didn't change to human form, they would move on and dart the next wolf they came across. By using this method the CBC could search large areas of forest quickly to find and capture werewolves. Redwood had managed to capture several ordinary wolves that had been newly darted and discarded. They were able to extract the darts and analyse the CBC serum, developing their own anti-dote serum.

Ava had insisted she wanted to take part in the security trial today. The participants were all being held at secret field tents scattered throughout the Silver moon boundary woods. Due to the secret nature of the trial, no one was allowed to know who was participating in the trial today. Delta Brandon had stressed the need for secrecy, and that she was not to reveal to anyone she participated today, he himself was the only one who knew the identities of today's participants. Each participant would be injected with the Red Wood anti-dote serum, along with the CBC serum. The combination of the two serums would force a shift to wolf form, but without being able to shift back. Once shifted to your wolf form, you would have to stay that way, until the serum ran its course through your system, or you were given another shot that would counter act the anti-dote. Without the counter shot, it was estimated you could stay in your wolf form for up to eight hours, depending on the size of your wolf.

As soon as the first serum took effect, Ava felt the unnatural need to force a shift, her bones cracked and realigned, until she emerged from her blanket as her beautiful pure white wolf with her signature black dipped paws. It was a very unusual feature for a pure white wolf to have black paws and limbs, like black socks resembling a fox, it made for a very striking appearance. She tested the anti-dote to see if she could shift back to human form, but indeed she could not force the shift. Delta Brandon immediately injected her with the CBC serum, and they waited to see if it could force a shift, but again nothing happened, the anti-dote held strong and she could not be forced her to shift back. Brandon then clipped a special collar to Ava, which had a red bandana fitted to it, along with a special tracker and beeper.

While the participants were in wolf form, they would trial new tactical security measures. It was deemed not enough to keep safe from the CBC by hiding in your wolf form, and they had to develop some strategies to outmanoeuvre the CBC while in wolf form. Today they would be playing a form of capture the flag. Each wolf was assigned to capture the flag, or in the case a bandana, of a corresponding wolf. You would be given a sample scent of your target wolf, and no other guidance. There were eight participants, scattered throughout the woods, you needed to track down your target wolf using your keen wolf sense smell only, and then outmanoeuvre your opponent to capture their bandana without them capturing yours. Once you had their bandana, you needed to get back to your own field tent, without them following you to win. Ava didn't know who the other participants were, but she knew it would be only the most elite soldiers chosen for this game. This would be a true test to her stealth and tactical skills.

"Now I'm going to let you smell a garment from your opponent. You are to track down this scent, and only this scent. There are eight participants today and each of you has been given a unique coloured bandana. Only I know the identity behind each bandana. If you come back with the wrong bandana you fail, and if your opponent gets your bandana you also fail" with that said Delta Brandon opened a special vacuum sealed package, pulling out a T-Shirt and allowing Ava's wolf to smell it. When the smell hit Ava's snout, she had an instant head rush from the pheromones, she could detect a unique musky scent like pine tree and apple cider. Mate!
