Ryan had his tongue practically all the way down Christie's throat, while dry humping her up against a tree. The young guard was meant to be patrolling the border territory. Christie had snuck out to the border area to keep him company. She had been fooling around with Ryan for the last 2 weeks, ever since her bitch cousin Ava had forced her to break up with her Redwood pack boyfriend. Not that she really cared about her ex-boyfriend or any of the boys she fooled around with for that matter. She was always chasing a temporary high that came from getting their attention, but after every encounter, she would go away feeling empty and used.
"You look so much like your sexy cousin; it drives me crazy. Come on Christie, let's do it, I promise I'll make you feel good" Ryan pleaded as he squeezed her breast hard through her tank top. Christie winced, it didn't feel good, in fact he hurt her breast.
"No Ryan, I told you I'm not ready to go all the way yet. Especially not here, and don't talk about my cousin" said Christie as she pushed him off her. Maybe it was a mistake sneaking out to meet him. Once again, she was acting self-destructive, and making stupid decisions. She could never seem to get anything right, unlike her amazing cousin, the one and only female Delta Ava. She was so tired of living in Ava's shadow, being constantly compared to her. She once idolised her older cousin, until the night of Ava's 18th birthday party. That was the night she realised who her cousin really was; a liar and a cheat.
"Oh come on Christie, your such a fucking tease. Why even sneak out here today, if weren't even going to have sex with me?"
Contrary to popular belief, Christie wasn't easy, at least not when it came to sex. Her virginity was actually still intact, although she wasn't sure why. It's not like she placed a high value on her V-card, but at the same time no boy had ever made her want to go all the way with them. And she certainly didn't want to do it with Ryan up against a tree.
"I'm going to head back now" said Christie as she started walking back towards the Mystic Falls border.
"Hey wait up, don't go. Okay, I'm sorry, what about a hand job then? Come on I'm dying here." Ryan said as he grabbed her arm.
"Blue balls do not mean you're dying, trust me Ryan, you'll live."
Just then they heard some twigs snapping, and the scent of humans hit them. Ryan finally got his head of the gutter and went into patrol mode. He pushed Christie behind him and scanned the area. His wolf surfacing, getting ready to shift. Christie turned, so she was back-to-back with Ryan, so she could scan the other side.
She heard a whizzing sound then a thump, as Ryan's body hit the ground. She turned to see Ryan's dead body slumped to the ground, with a bullet wound to his temple. They had killed him with a single snipper shot to the head. Just as she was about to scream, she felt something prick her neck and then everything went black.

Ava and her team stood over Ryan's dead body, eyeing the CBC package that had been left behind on top of Ryan's chest. It was black cardboard box with the CBC logo stamped on it.
Earlier that day Ava had been counting down the minutes to when she would be able to get back to her mate at Silver Moon. She was about to ring Delta Brandon and inquire about the identity of the large grey wolf with the black bandana, when the alert came through, Christie and a young guard had gone missing. They tracked their scents which led them here. Ryan was dead, but there was no sign of Christie, which meant they had abducted her. Why had they taken Christie, she was just an ordinary shifter of no special ranking? The CBC rarely targeted any wolves that weren't Lunas or Alphas.
"Everyone stand back, while I open the package" Ava instructed.
"No Delta Ava, what if it's a bomb, it's too risky" answered Luke, her second in command. Ava knew it wasn't a bomb, her keen wolf senses would be able to sniff out a bomb, this was something much worse. She dreaded opening the box, she could smell Christie's scent emanating from the package, and she didn't want anyone else to witness what might be inside.
All the soldiers backed up, while Ava reached down and picked up the box, as she tore it open her blood ran cold. Inside the box, lay Christies beautiful silky blonde ponytail. Not just a lock of her hair, but her whole ponytail, and it appeared to have been hacked off in a crude manner. They were both blondes, but Christie's hair was softer and more golden than Ava's. There was also a letter addressed to Alpha Knight. Ava tore it open and read it:
Alpha Caden Knight,
As you are aware by now, we have captured your Delta Ava. Let's not play games here, we know your secret, she is not your Delta but your Mate. Yes we know all about your secret hook ups, and your attempt to hide your luna.
If you ever want to see your precious Mate alive again, you will do as instructed. Don't try and fool us, or she will end up like your useless border patrol guard with a bullet to her brain. Don't worry, we'll make sure to have some fun with her first, let's just say we'll take her out with bang!
The letter than went on to detail instructions of a rendezvous point. There were strict instructions for Caden to come alone. It was clear they had captured Christie, thinking she was Ava. It was an easy mistake for a human, as they two looked so alike, and without a keen wolf sense of scent they could easily mix up the two women. But why did they think Ava was Caden's mate? Had someone witnessed Ava and Caden's many sexual encounters, had they not been as careful at covering their tracks as they thought? And now would her younger cousin pay the ultimate price for Ava and Caden's foolish 8 year affair? No, Ava could not let that happen! Ava carefully folded the note and slid it into her pocket, she didn't want anybody else reading it.
"Ring Beta Jaxon immediately, bring him up to speed. Redwood might have some good intel on where they think CBC have taken Christie. Under no circumstances are you to contact Alpha Knight, he is not to be disturbed".
