Prologue

I never thought myself as naive.

I was a harder worker and liked to think I had a kind heart. Yes I had a mouth that could run away from me, and in my defence, I was only standing up for what I believed in.

But one day, my big mouth ran too far and spoke too loudly at the wrong fateful moment.

A moment that would alter my very future.

This job was a fresh start for me. A means to an end to get myself back on a stable track after many months of struggling.

But what I never comprehended was the danger to come as a package deal. And his name was Romeo Lianni.

I never thought myself as naive.

But then again, I didn't think I'd fall for a guy that called me a bitch on my first day at work.

I'd tried to keep my head above the water, trust me I really did. But over time, there was only so much weight I could take before my heart caved and I completely and utterly sunk.
