This was supposed to be a relaxing retreat, a weekend off, if you will. There weren't supposed to be any aliens, or horrors, just fun. It was to be expected that nothing would go to plan. The Tardis had made all sorts of noises, which lead them to an industrial estate in Woolwich. That was how they ended up chasing that... thing through the warehouse.

The Doctor had explained it to him at least five times already, but it didn't really make much sense. This creature, he called it a Hoix, shouldn't have been on Earth. It didn't belong there, and the Doctor couldn't explain how it had managed to make its way anywhere. Apparently, the Hoix weren't a clever race.

Of course, EJ had more questions than just about who the Hoix really was. However, he wasn't going to ask a thing. There was far too much going on, and time seemed to be running thin, as it always was.

Nothing they did was ever done by half, and it seemed that losing track of the Hoix's whereabouts was much easier than they had anticipated. Rose had been chasing it like she were a madwoman, and EJ had swiftly given up on running after them.

The Doctor had created a great plethora of chemicals inside of coloured buckets. They were laying in a corridor to the left, a floor down from where he'd located himself, so that was where EJ chose to stay. He'd been given a few tasks to complete himself, anyway.

There was a pork chop in his hoodie. It was for the Hoix to be tempted with, and the Doctor had already used all his up. Essentially, EJ was the backup. All he was waiting for was the signal for him to join them. That was, if they were all in the same place.

"Doctor!" He could hear Rose calling for him, but he wasn't sure where, exactly. "Doctor! Look out!"

"Where's he gone?" EJ could imagine the look on the Doctor's face as he turned to face Rose, completely confused. "Have you seen him?"

"There he is! Stop!" She cried out, slightly confused. "No! Watch out!"

"Where?" The Doctor's voice echoed, before he exclaimed at the top of his voice. "There! There!"

Realistically, EJ knew that he should have gone to help them, but he could hear how much of a disorganised mess it was, and suddenly he was glad to know he was alone. That was, until he explicitly heard the Doctor call for him, possibly even louder than EJ had thought.

    "EJ!"

The Thompson boy sprinted in the direction of the voice, but found himself in another corridor. It made him ever so slightly nervous. Firstly, because he couldn't find the Doctor, but also because he didn't want to run into the Hoix. He didn't like the way it looked. It was sort of scaled, with exposed gums and teeth like razor blades. It's nose was like a skull, and, truthfully, it was just ugly.

Perhaps, he was just a little superficial. Although, it wasn't a bad thing to be surrounded by beautiful people. They were nice to look at, after all.

When he found nothing waiting for him, EJ grew nervous. "Doctor?" He called out, edging louder, as he realised that the only thing he could see was a door. It made him uneasy. "Doctor?"

Then, in a flash, that door opened, and before he could properly take it in, EJ was pressed against the inside of the room. His back was digging slightly into the handle, which ached, and when he tried to shift, the Doctor came into view.

Their eyes were locked again, and there was a tension in the air. They just stared, for longer than they should have. EJ tried to move again, but the Doctor stopped him, blissfully unaware of their proximity. "Have you got it?"
