I smiled. I think he is.

...

After a few days,

I lay in bed, wrapped in blankets and and empty chips littered my entire room. I felt too weak to put a chip in my mouth. I was on my period.

"You look like shit." Daven said.

He leaned by my door holding my Queen Charlotte book.

"That's why I couldn't find it. You stole it." I said.

"What happened? You look like shit and your room is messy." Daven said.

"Cramps is killing me, dude." I said.

"You're on your period?" Daven asked as he placed the book on my desk.

"Yeah." I said.

"Sorry, I know it's painful." Daven said as he sat on the bed.

"It's okay." I said.

"It's not okay. Blood is oozing from you and you're saying it's okay." Daven said.

"Oozing? That's the correct word but the way you said it, is so funny. Oozing."

"Oh my." Daven said.

"Imagine boys experience some." I said.

"What?! Never! Ever!" Daven said.

I laughed.

"Let's stop talking about it even." Daven said.

"Wait a minute, are you scared?" I asked.

"A little bit." Daven said.

I groaned.

"Don't you want to take any pain killers?" Daven asked.

"No, I'm going to deal with it." I said.

Daven sighed. "Why isn't it good to take painkillers?"

"I don't know. I just don't want to." I said.

"You guys can't get rid of it?" Daven asked.

"Dude, I want to have kids one day." I said.

"Okay." Daven said as he rose up his hands in innocence.

Daven just laid down beside me. He entwined our hands. He's the only friend I needed, we shared the bed like little kids.

Alvin's POV:

I paced back and forth. Martin said by the kitchen table eating churros.

"Dude, you should be helping." I said.

"Bro, I'm not the one who denied his feelings." Martin said.

"I know I made a mistake, you don't have to remind me." I said.

"You know what. You and Ashley are dumb, you've both been hanging on this for years." Martin said.

"Do not insult her." I warned.

"Dude, let her be happy. Nowadays, I see her with some guy and she looks happier than ever. You made her feel shitty. Leave her alone. You were her everything, but not anymore. You made her sad." Martin said.

"But I love her." I said.

"Fuck. No, you don't love her. Yeah, you did but no anymore. You don't look at her with love in your eyes anymore." Martin said, gesturing. "Just apologize, what you did is forgivable at some point. I think. If you really love her, let her be happy and let me enjoy my churros."
