The morning after my kiss with Danny I woke up with a massive weight off my shoulders. I felt like after telling Rachel everything about the history between me and Danny and Amy that nothing could stop me from embarking on an actual relationship. Don't get me wrong, I wasn't completely clueless. I knew that I would still have to tell Amy about me and Danny going out, but with her happy with Zac I honestly couldn't see her having a major issue. I had decided not to tell her about what happened last year because Rachel was right, I was in an awful place and I wouldn't have done it otherwise. This is different. Danny and I are at the same school spending all our time together, Amy's at home with a new boyfriend. Embarking on this relationship isn't going to hurt anyone the way that it could have before, this is just about Danny and me.

When I woke up Rachel was already gone, she had class early today. I looked at the clock and saw that I'd already missed breakfast; I guess a granola bar would have to do. As I got ready my mind was buzzing, my stomach in knots – I can't remember the last time I was this happy.

I think that this was the first time I had ever actually looked forward to maths. I kept checking the time whilst I was applying my makeup, eager for minutes to be skipped so I could go and sit next to Danny. I knew we couldn't make out again in the middle of Maths, Mr Wilding would have an absolute fit. But just seeing his face, being close to him – that's all I really craved for. I mean I craved to make out with him as well but that's neither here or there.

As soon as it had reached ten to nine I grabbed my rucksack and marched out the door. I walked to class with a massive smile on my face, quite the contrast to my usual resting bitch-face. It didn't surprise me that there was only one other person in the queue outside the room at this time, I guess I was very early. However I could only have been standing there a few moments when I felt a hand rest on my shoulder, and hear a deep, soft voice behind me. 'Hey Jessie,'

I turned to look at him. Seeing his beautiful, beautiful face staring back at me was the perfect start to my day. 'Hiya.' I spoke softly, tucking my hair behind my ear and biting my lip as I did so. This was new, I wasn't used to being this nervous around Danny. It wasn't a scary nervous though, it was an amazing nervous. I was imagining our bodies intertwined, our lips interlocked, our hands clasping at each other. The butterflies flying around my body were of passion and devotion, not fright or fear.

'How've you been?' Danny asked.

'Good. I have to talk to you about some stuff though, I had quite a,' I paused, 'busy night after I left you, talking to Rachel about things.'

Danny's brow furrowed, his lips pursed. 'Everything's alright though? With, like, us?'

A grin danced across my face. 'Everything's perfect yeah, I think we just need to, you know, discuss where we going with this whole thing. We were kind of interrupted last night.'

'Yeah I'm sorry about Jack, he feels terrible.' He explained.

'Good!' I laughed. 'Don't worry about it, we can talk today its fine.'

'Good.' There was a silence as Danny stared at me. He had a slight grin, his head tilted and his eyes widened.

'What?' I asked. 'Why are you looking at me like that?'

He gently held my right hand in his left, looking in my eyes as he did so. Slowly, he bought his lips up to mine, giving me a relaxed, tender kiss. As he drew away smiling, I exhaled deeply whilst blinking a little longer than usual. I wanted to savour the sweet taste he had left on my lips. Just as I thought that nothing could ruin this moment, Mr Wilding's booming voice managed to prove me wrong. 'Daniel, Jessica. Although I am perfectly happy for you do engage in whatever activity you want in your free time, do you really think that sort of thing is appropriate for an A level maths lesson?'
