"Mommy No!" A young girl begs, clinging tightly to her mothers legs.
"It's ok baby." The woman soothes, smoothing out the child's wild red curls with her fingers. "These people will take good care of you, won't you? She says looking to the uniformed men who have come to take her daughter.
"Yes ma'am, it's just a special school for the gifted, we hope with enough training, they can rebuild our world." The uniformed man says, smiling at the girl. "Don't worry, school will be fun, there are lots of other kids your age, and everyone is nice." The little girl looks uncertainly at her mother, afraid to go.
"Go ahead, and remember Skylar, mommy loves you." The mother says leading her daughter towards one of the men. He smiles and takes the girl's hand.
"It's unusual you know, for both of you to be immune." The other guard says, gesturing towards the woman and her daughter.
"I just hope this is for the best." The mother says, giving her daughter one last hug before letting go.
"Oh it is." The man assures her, leading the girl out the door.
"I love you Mommy!" The girl yells, before being shut inside a white van, stamped with six letters.
