A week before the task Harry finally figured out the egg with help from Cedric.

He also knew how to retrieve what he needed to get with help from Longbottom.

It was almost two months since Draco and I had made our deal.

As far as I know he hasn’t been hateful to anyone.

It would be exactly two months on the day of the second task.

“Emma?” Ginny’s voice said from my left.

I shook my head trying to refocus my attention.

Everyone was strung out around the common room on Saturday watching the snow melt.

Well except for Hermione she was studying of course.

“Yeah?” I said sitting up from where I was laying on the window seat.

Ginny got up from her chair and came to sit down next to me.

“How are you and Draco? I would think you guys would be together on a day like this.” She said quietly enough so only I could hear.

I sighed. “He’s busy today.” I said staring at my ring he’d given me a week earlier. “He is doing extra credit for transfiguration. He has lousy marks in there.”

Ginny frowned at me. “It must be hard.”

“Hmm?” I said looking up my hands travelling up tom necklace he also gave me.

It glowed for a moment when I touched it.

“Being away from him. Dating him in secrecy.” Ginny said. “I could never do that. You two could be together in the library right now if it weren’t for your brother and Draco’s differences… and him being in Slytherin of course.”

I smiled lightly. “When you’re in love with someone it doesn’t matter to you. I would walk to the ends of the earth for Draco and I’m certain he would do the same for me.”

“Wait! You love him!” Ginny said

“Maybe.” I said smiling letting go of necklace.

It glowed as it hit my neck.

“That glows all of the time! What’s up with it?” She asked.

I laughed. “Oh that.” I said.

She rolled her eyes.

“Draco has some kind of special magic in there and when I touch it or it touches me it glows and Draco’s own ring glows. It also settles one color which is my mood which will also show on Draco’s ring.”

“So he knows what you’re feeling all the time?”

“Yeah basically.” I said smiling.

“I’m not sure whether that’s a good thing or a bad thing.” Ginny said.

I laughed and my necklace turned even more gold then it already was.

“What does gold mean?” Ginny asked.

“Amused or happy.” I said smiling.

Ginny smiled rolling her eyes. “Glad I amuse you so much.” She said.

I stuck my tongue out at her.

“So when are you telling Harry?”

My necklace turned blue.

And my heart sank.

“Soon. Unfortunately. I just hope he reacts like you and Mione did.” I said.

Ginny nodded.

I could almost see Draco trying to study and then his ring turns blue.

He’s probably pacing around his dorm at this very second debating whether or not to come see if I’m all right.

Ginny then accused herself as Dean entered the room.

I frowned and my necklace turned a darker blue.

I felt bad for Gin; she was having such a hard time with Dean.

Okay. I need to cheer myself up or I will start freaking Draco out.

I thought about my first kiss with Draco and my necklace turned a bright pink.

In love.

I hope he doesn’t know that’s directed to him.

If he isn’t going to say he loves me yet I’m not going to say it to him either.

I smiled at myself.

I know he loves me though, and he knows I love him but we aren’t saying it to each other yet.

Then I laughed. Out loud.

I got a couple of weird stares but I shook them off.

Draco was a great guy there was no denying that.

But I felt like there was trouble ahead, like that one raisin in a “chocolate chip” cookie.
