I sat down in my office that was in my new building, looking out the window, down to see all of the cars speeding by and people walking who looked like ants from this view while I waited for Bakari to show up. Isis got in contact with me earlier and told me that he wanted to meet at my place instead, but I wasn't going to give him the benefit of knowing where I lived.

After what happened at the charity ball, I went back to the table but told the girls nothing. I didn't want or need for them to get rowdy while were at an event like this— especially with Lauryn's case. She was the calmest one out of the rest of us, but if I told her what happened she'd make sure to throw a fit and shut the entire event down with just her voice.

"You got all dressed up for me, baby?" Bakari's voice bounced off the walls and I rolled my eyes before I turned to look at him. His hair was braided back and he was dressed in all black— not like that was anything new.

He leaned against the office door and ran his tongue across his bottom lip, his hands holding one another

He leaned against the office door and ran his tongue across his bottom lip, his hands holding one another.

"I get dressed up for myself— and don't call me baby. Take a seat." I sighed and rolled over to him. He sat on the opposite side of the desk, not taking his eyes off me. Huffing, I shrugged my shoulders and put my hands on the desk. "So, what bullshit plan are you about to tell me about?"
