54. Graduation Ball

Chapter 54

Naging abala ang lahat nung sumunod na linggo. Nabibilang nalang ang araw bago ang Graduation kaya naman bukod sa rehearsals ay dumagdag pa sa gawain namin mga graduating students 'yong mga requirements na dapat namin i-comply. Medyo nagkaroon pa ng maliit na aberya sa documents ko lalo na't nanggaling ako sa States pero good thing ay sa tulong ni Kuya Kurt ay naayos na agad ito.

"You look so elegant..." Mom said in awe as she stared at me while I stood infront of the full-length mirror.

Dressed in a mysterious shade of lilac lavander satin cocktail pleated gown paired with the same colored heels, I could not recognize my own reflection on the mirror. The knee-length strapless bodice did wonders for my thin figure. Even with my light make up on, it still highlighted my complexion. I tilted my body a bit to look at my back figure and there, I saw my long, wavy brown hair that matched well with my outfit. To complete my look for tonight, my mom put on my jewelry that perfectly added a little touch of vintage chic on me.

Kahit pa na isang linggo lang ang nilaan ng designer para gawin itong gown ko ay maganda pa rin ang naging resulta. Ate Sandy and Ate Lovely are really impressive! Para silang pinanganak para sa propesyon nila ngayon.

"I love it so much," I mumbled under my breath as I continued to watch myself on the mirror in admiration. Pakiramdam ko, ngayon lang ako gumanda ng ganito.

"Well, I think you are ready," sabi ni Mommy sa akin kaya humarap ako. Beside her are the make-up artist and the hairstylist that helped me achieve this look.

"Thanks for helping me," I uttered with a sincere smile. Ngumiti lang ang dalawa pabalik at medyo yumuko marahil ay dahil sa pagiging mahiyain. "You too, Mom. Maraming salamat..."

"Anything for you, sweetheart. I want you to enjoy this night..." she said and then approached me for a hug. "Alright. You better get going, Misty," she said as she broke free. "Make the most out of your last night in College."

Kung hindi pa kumatok ang housemaid para tawagin ako ay baka hindi pa ako lalabas. Hinihintay na raw kasi ako nina Dad at kuya sa baba. Apparently, they will be in charge to send me off because I agreed to Zion to just meet him in the venue. Gaya ng napagplanuhan ay magsasabay sila ni Geoff dahil siya ang tumulong sa pag-aayos nito.

Inalalayan ako ni Mommy sa pagbaba sa hagdanan dahil hindi pa ako sabay sa suot kong heels. Soon as we stepped out of the door, sabay na napalingon sina Dad at Kuya na naghihintay sa labas ng kotse.

"Wow. You look gorgeous," Dad said and walked toward me to plant a kiss on my head.

"Thanks, Dad." I giggled.

Nakahalukipkip lang si kuya habang nakatingin sa akin. I stared at him, waiting for his comment when eventually, he showed me his thumbs up as his approval.

"Ang ganda mo," he commented that made me giggle. Ngayon nalang yata siya nag-Tagalog simula nang bumalik siya.

"Salamat, kuya..."

The travel was unexpectedly fast. Marahil ay Sabado ng gabi kaya hindi masyadong congested ang kalsada. Hindi ko alam kung nakailang lunok at buntong-hininga ang ginawa ko para pa-kalmahin ang dibdib ko na panay ang pagkabog dahil sa kaba.

"Relax, Misty. You look so anxious," puna ni Dad sa akin.

Dad was seating on the passenger's seat while Kuya was the one driving. They insisted that they will drive me to E.H.U instead of Butler Homer. Hindi ko alam kung bakit gusto-gustong nilang sila ang maghatid sa akin. Kunsabagay, ganito rin naman ang ginawa nila noong JS Prom ko nung highschool and that made me feel really special.
