Keigo left almost as soon as they got home, changing out of his half-hero costume into a pair of jeans and a black tee shirt, along with the jacket that y/n had told him to keep.

She didn't want to pester him about his parents, seeing as she felt that was an invasion of his privacy, so she just let him go as she went into her room, changing out of her costume into her actual hero costume, not the revealing dress she wore for the shoot.

She didn't especially care if people guessed her quirk or lineage now, so as soon as she left the house again to go patrolling, she activated her quirk fully, her wings extending out of her back. y/n took off of the ground, her sharp ears stinging from how quickly she was flying.

She had never patrolled before, if she was being completely honest, completely alone. She was either with Keigo, which was most of the time, or Endeavor, and she didn't exactly want to see or talk to him unless she absolutely had to.

Nervousness flooded her veins as she landed, her heels clicking against the ground. People were still milling around, talking to one another calmly. A couple of guys made y/n take a selfie with them, but none of them were as creepy as some of the people that conversed with y/n through the mail, which was a blessing.

Some girls approached her as well, asking for autographs and asking her how she's been ever since she was kidnapped by the League, not noticing how her shoulders stiffened as they mentioned Dabi.

It still stung, knowing that Touya no longer cared for her as his younger sister, knowing that despite their past, he was completely and utterly willing to kill her if it was convenient.

Finally, she came across Mirko, who smelled her before she saw her, turning to grin at the younger girl.

"Hey," Mirko greeted, opening her arms for a hug.

Y/n smiled and stepped forward, wrapping her arms around her, before backing away so they could talk and walk at the same time, patrolling together.

"Hey, how have you been?" y/n asked, falling into step with the rabbit hero.

"Good. Tired of people trying to get me to team up with them," Mirko rolled her eyes. "You moved in with Takami?"

"Did he tell you that?"

"He mentioned that he wanted to ask you, but didn't know how to do so without making it awkward between you two," Mirko smirked. "And I'm pretty sure you're still going to deny that he likes you."

"He- well, he doesn't," y/n stuttered a bit, turning her pale face away as it tinged pink. "He's being nice to me, that's all. It's probably because I listen to him."

"It's definitely more than that," Mirko shook her head, her white ears flopping a bit as she patted y/n on the top of her head; she was a lot shorter than Mirko was. "You understand him, fundamentally, as a person. You can read him when even I couldn't, and I was supposed to be his best friend during our time in the program together."

"It's not hard," y/n shrugged. "He stopped trying to hide what he was thinking about three months after we met, because he noticed that I don't judge him. How can I judge him with my background?"

"That's true, you did have villains for parents," Mirko allowed. "Has he found out about that?"

"Yeah. I just flat-out told him, because he already overheard Endeavor and I arguing," y/n explained. "He was surprisingly chill about it, I don't think he minds."

"It's not as if he hasn't done anything that he thinks is evil. The Public Safety Commissions Office controls everything he does, every mission he takes, even if he doesn't personally agree with it."
