So I may or may not have messed up her age for the past few chapters so she's nine here

She was 6 when she started dance
And 8 when she started to want to do voice lessons

Jade and Anna managed to keep her vocal lessons a secret for over a whole year

David was always out at work in the evenings when it was time for her lessons so Anna would take her to them no problem since she was always free

One day a couple weeks after she'd just turned nine her parents told her they needed to talk

With shaking legs jade made her way into the living room where her parents were already sitting on the couch side by side

She timidly sat down on the chair across from them. Her mother was smiling like usual but her father was scowling-also like usual

Her mind was racing through everything they could want to talk about, the first thing that came to mind was of course dance and her singing but there was no way her father had found out because her and her mother both promised not to tell

She also hoped that He wouldn't make her quit dance because that would probably be her worst nightmare-dancing was her dream, quitting was her nightmare

They all sat in silence for what felt like forever to jade. Her father had his arm around Anna's shoulder and jade just sat there fiddling with her skirt and playing with her fingers

Finally David cleated his throat and sat up straighter

"So jade.. your mother and I have something to tell you"

Jade swallowed hard anxiously

"You're going to have a little brother"

Jade breathed a sigh of relief and calmed down for a second but then it dawned on her

"Are you replacing me?"

"No baby we'd never do that" Anna said reaching forward to take her hand "don't be silly"

"Don't sugar coat it Anna" he muttered to her before turning to jade

"We just-we just need a child who's going to be successful and able to carry on the family"

Jades heart sank, surely she didn't disappoint her father that much

"So you're having another child because you think I'm not going to be successful or find a husband. You think I'm a failure" she said with a mix of anger and sadness in her voice

"You want to be an actor! That's not going to get you anywhere"

Anna quickly saw the rising tension and tried to defuse the situation by talking about the baby more

"Do you want to help pick the name jade? You could name him something to match your name? Or you could help pick the nursery colours that's fun!"

Jade didn't care at all though because she already hated her brother so much. She couldn't care less what he was named or what he looked like she just hated him and she hadn't even met him yet

Well wasn't that fun
I'm really trying to drag this out more and more so sorry they're so short
