Jade didn't ever tell her either of her parents that she'd heard that.

How could she? how could anyone?

Her mother would probably burst into tears right on the spot and drop to her knees to apologize for something that wasn't her fault in the first place. So that wasn't fair To anyone

And her father was the one who had said it so what was it to him? He wouldn't care if she'd heard it, he'd probably be glad she'd heard that so she would know how he truly felt about her without having to say it to her face

Every time jade saw him around the house she felt like she had been slapped in the face by the glare he gave her

They didn't talk very much and that's how they both wanted it

They sat at dinner together and sometimes he drove her to and from school from other than that, she stayed locked in her or Joshua's room and he stayed in his office hunched over his desk

The fighting between her parents never seemed to get any better. She always hoped it would and she hoped hat they would go back to like it had been before she'd mentioned dancing or signing or anything like that except with joss of course

But it never did

They woke jade up early in the morning by yelling and kept her up into the late hours of the evening arguing about anything bad that had happened during the day blaming it on the other one

Her mother had completely changed from the kind person she was, now she was always on edge and snapped at everything. Usually shed apologize to her later claiming she was just tired. But then it would happen the next day so how many apologies can one person take from someone

Jade still loved her but it was getting harder to

It seemed like David and Anna didn't talk to each other anymore and the only form of communication was screaming

And jade and Joshua had to listen to it all

The summer between fifth and sixth grade and jades first year in middle school a week  after she'd turned eleven her parents called her down to the living room and told her to bring joss

She grabbed the one year old out of his crib and carefully walked down the stairs to sit in the same place she had when her parents told her about joss being born

She had speculations as to what she was about to be told but she really hoped they weren't true

"So jade" David started after clearing his throat "and joss I guess if you're listening, your mother and I have something to tell you"

Joss squirmed so she adjusted him in her lap and swallowed hard

"What are you replacing me again?" She spat still angry about the last time

"No, no not that" Anna assured her

"You're mother and I are getting a divorce"

Those words also made jades world stop

This was every kids worst nightmare

Her speculations were correct

Her family was falling apart because of her and her stupid dreams

😬✌️
