You had slept in a little too long, so when you finally rolled out of bed, your girlfriend, Amy, was already up and dressed, ready for the day ahead. She didn't have work today, but she wanted to get some reading done as she had bought a new stack of books and hadn't had a chance to read any of them and appreciate the new book smell. When you walked into the living room, Amy was sat in the corner, in her favourite armchair that was in reach of one of the bookcases, a book up covering your view of her face as she continued to read.

"Good morning," you smiled warmly, dropping down on the opposite seat, stretching out across the sofa.

"Morning," she said not looking away from her book.

"Are you not even going to put the book down to say hello?" You asked.

You knew that Amy could get stuck in a book and lose herself to the reading however you assumed that she could spare two seconds to look at you and look away from the book that she was reading.

"I would much rather not," she commented.

Your brow furrowed together. This was weird even for Amy who could have some odd tendencies. You had no idea why she was trying to hide her face from you, but she clearly had something that she was trying to hide from you.

"What are you hiding, Amy?" You questioned.

She let out a sigh. Slowly she lowered the book to reveal her face. Everything was seemingly normal about her face other than the glasses that she didn't normally wear. You knew that her eyesight was terrible and wore contacts every day, but you had never seen her in glasses. They were large and square, something that looked rather unflattering on her.

You tried to not laugh but in doing so you ended up smirking at her. She was a beautiful woman, but the glasses did age her terribly.

"I ran out of contacts," she frowned. "I never wanted you to see me in these, but I didn't really have a choice seen as I can barely see what is right in front of me without them."

The smirk stayed on your face as your girlfriend begun to frown at you.

"Stop smirking," she huffed.

A laugh escaped you. "I'm sorry. You look very different with your glasses but still adorable."

Amy rolled her eyes at you before going back to reading.
