Shawn Mendes
We were all in Greece for our first family holiday.
It also counted as Elara and I's honeymoon that we had postponed till now.
We had been married for just over two months and it was pure bliss.
We had plans to move into a bigger house together.
Nothing could be more perfect.

"Baby are you ok?" I shouted up the villa stairs as I held Frances in my arms.
"Give me two minutes!" Elara shouted back and I rolled my eyes.
"Long." Frances sighed and I sniggered to myself.
"I know."
"Ok ok i'm here." Elara said running down the marble stairs.
"What took so long? Is everything ok?"
"I'm fine. Let's go." She said but immediately I could tell that something was wrong.
She looked flustered and flushed.
She looked amazing, but she wasn't herself.

She seemed overly quiet as we sat at the restaurant.
We were sat at w table on the balcony that looked over the ocean.
Elara kept staring out to the sea and wasn't saying much.
I took hold of her hand in mine and she snapped her eyes back to me.
"Sorry."
"Elara what's wrong?" I said and she shook her head.
"I'm ok. Just really tired. I'm sorry Shawn."
"Don't be sorry. I just want you to be ok." I said and placed a kiss to her cheek.
"I am just tired."
"We can go if you'd like to?" I asked and she shrugged.
"It's so beautiful. Id hate to waste the evening."
"Well, Frances evidently needs to go to bed." I sighed and Elara giggled as she looked at Frances who was slowly falling asleep in my arms.
"Bless her."
"But we could have a drink on the balcony back at the villa." I suggested and she smiled with a nod.

Once we had put Frances to bed, we both grabbed a drink and headed out to the balcony of the villa that overlooked our little bit of private beach and the pool.
The sun was just about to be lost over the horizon so there was a purple haze in the sky.
Elara looked more than amazing.
She had her hair up in a loose ponytail that gently flew in the breeze.
She had a blanket wrapped around her shoulders and she stared out onto the horizon.
I took a quick photo of her and another as she turned to me and blushed with a slight smile.
"Shawn."
"What? You look beautiful." I smiled and she smiled at me but shook her head. "So, what's been going on?"
I watched as she sighed and closed her eyes.
"Elara? Is something wrong?"
"I-I"
Tears started to build in her eyes and she bit her lip slightly.
Something was definitely wrong.
"Elara...are you sick? Has something happened?"
"No no i'm not sick."
"Has something happened?" I asked and watched as she slowly nodded and a single tear fell from her eye.
"Whatever it is, we can deal with it, it'll all be ok we can work it out." I said, attempting to reassure her.

She smiled and laughed lightly before wiping her eyes with the blanket.
"We're going to have to deal with it." She sniffled and I frowned.
"What are you talking about? Elara what's happened?"
She sighed again and trained her eyes on the skyline.
She smiled lightly.
"I'm pregnant."

I stared at her.
Her eyes remained on the horizon.
I felt my mouth open but no words came out.
"What?"
"I'm pregnant." She said and moved her eyes to look at me.
"Are you serious?"
"I found out just before we left." She sniffled and gave me an almost sad smile.
"Why do you look sad?"
"Because I'm scared that I can't do it again. I'm scared that we're not ready for another baby. What if Frances and her don't get along?" She cried and I stood up and immediately walked over to her.

I stood her up for a moment before placing her back on my lap.
"We're ready. Frances is close to three now. She can handle another baby and so can we. I've not got any upcoming projects, you're stronger than i've ever seen you. We can do this."
"Really?"
"Yes. Yes of course we can."

We looked at each other for a moment before she covered her mouth with her hands and started to laugh lightly.
"We're having a baby." She said and I grinned widely.
"We're having a baby." I said and took her tightly into my arms.

I was scared.
But the excitement was overpowering the fear.
I could tell that this baby would complete our family.
Our perfect little family.
