Wang Zhen brought Wu Suowei home and let him sleep in Wang Shuo's room.

Wu Suowei took a hot bath, changed into clean clothes, and got into the bed comfortably. He fell asleep in less than two minutes, Wang Zhen stayed with him for a while and left when he was sure that Wu Suowei had really fallen asleep.

In the middle of the night, the rain stopped.

Wang Zhen haven't sleep yet, he got up and went to the living room to have some water, he saw Wu Suowei sitting cross-legged on the carpet as he stared out the window. The hair at the back of his head was messy and he was sitting upright like a stubborn and lonely child.

"Didn't you already fell asleep just now?" Wang Zhen asked, "why are you up again?"

Wu Suowei told him lightly, "the rain stopped, and I couldn't sleep."

Yes, Wu Suowei slept soundly when it was raining heavily and thunderstorm loudly. Now he couldn't sleep when it was completely calm. It was like he was having auditory hallucinations where he could hear the door squeaked open, and then a series of steps walking from the door to the bedroom, but even after he waited for a long time, no one open the bedroom door.

So he sat outside.

Wang Zhen naturally knew what Wu Suowei was doing, his state was exactly the same as Wang Shuo. For the past six months, no one know how many nights Wang Shuo had walked around the house, hoping that someone would open the door one day and say: I finally found you.

They were just a proud children that happened to wear two different masks.

"Wang Shuo will not come back." Wang Zhen told Wu Suowei, "a person who stay outside for the night because of the rain won't step into the muddy road along way home just because the rain stopped in the middle of the night."

"I'm not doubting him staying with Chi Cheng." Wu Suowei clumsily tried to cover the truth, "I'm just afraid he will come back in the middle of the night and get mad when he sees me sleeping in his bed."

Wang Zhen said gently, "rest assured, he's not so particular about it, he doesn't even bother to wash his feet, so you don't have to worry about it."

Wu Suowei nodded and silently returned to Wang Shuo's bedroom.

At that very moment, Chi Cheng was still waiting outside of Mrs. Wu's ward.

In less than a month, Mrs. Wu had lost a lot of weight, Chi Cheng arranged her in a general room, but he secretly provided her with special treatment as he was afraid that Mrs. Wu might worried about the cost.

When Chi Cheng rushed over, Mrs. Wu was vomiting and having a diarrhea, she had a high fever and unconscious.

Her condition had just improved, and when she woke up, she clenched Chi Cheng's hands and said, "Da Chi! You must never talk about this to my third child, if one day, I fell down and died, my third child would feel sad for at least a few days. If you tell him now, he will worry about me from now until the day I die."

Mrs. Wu had been telling these to Chi Cheng for so many times.

She took out all the money that she had hidden in a chest at home, thinking that it was enough until the day she died, however it wasn't even enough for a day of medical care. She was reluctant to use the money Wu Suowei gave her, and kept telling Chi Cheng to find a cheap cure and live in a cheap ward since the money had to be reserved for her son's marriage.

Chi Cheng didn't tell Wu Suowei, it wasn't completely because of his promise to her, but also partly because of his selfishness. He didn't want to make Wu Suowei unhappy, even though he knew Mrs. Wu wanted to see her son, he still didn't want to bring Wu Suowei over and let him see his sick mother.
