My Romeo- James Potter

"Juliet Casseopia Black, will you marry me." I stared at him a mixture of anger and confusion pulsing through my body as he stood in front of me on one knee.

"Are you bloody demented." I yelled slapping Daniel across the face, I had agreed to meet up with him to figure out some things and try hear out his side of this story, for example why he left without a word, only to have his mother reach out to me months later.

"Ouch." He said rubbing his cheek and I had to fight every inch of myself not to slap again.

"What the actual fuck is wrong with you, first of all we haven't seen each other in years, secondly what goes on in that brain of yours and thirdIy have a bloody boyfriend you idiot." I yelled as he got back up looking at me like I was speaking a different language.

"You agreed to meet me again and we agreed to talk about our future for Leonard's sake." He said and I pinched the bridge of my nose.

"Agreeing to talk to you does not permit you to ask me to marry you, and his name is Leonardo not Leonard." I said and he rolled his eyes.

"C'mon Juliet it is custom for the mother and father to be happily married." He said and that boiled my blood.

"You are not his father Daniel Aleksandrov, you gave up rights to that the second you decided to fall off the edge of the earth." I said my voice raising only slightly, I don't know why he just expects me to forgive him, no questions asked.

"I am as much his father as you are his mother." He exclaimed and I gritted my teeth.

"According to his birth certificate, Leo's father is dead." I said walking away, leaving him alone, we had met up quite far away from any public eyes, didn't need anyone speculating about what happened, when I got to a rather closed off area I apparated away to Andromeda's summer home where James and I have been staying with Leo for little over a month now. I had gotten a well paying job as a potioneer at the apothecary in Diagon Alley and James was doing his apprenticeship to becoming an Auror, and all while that happened we were training with the order every night. Leo came with us and enjoyed getting all the attention from people he knew like Lizzie or Evelyn or even some complete stranger, atleast to him they were complete strangers.

I walked up to the house and saw James sitting on the porch swing with Leo on his lap and the two of them appeared to be sleeping. I smiled to myself and got out my wand in order to summon my camera and take a picture of them. Satisfied with how it turned out I walked over to the swing and sat down next to James, causing him to wake up, atleast he was alert. "Hey Darling, when did you get back." He asked his voice still raspy as he turned his face to look at me and placing a kiss on my temple.

"A few minutes ago, did you enjoy your nap with Prince Leo?" I asked and he chuckled looking down at Leo who still laid fast asleep against his chest.

"He was quite persistent that he wasn't tired so he made me come outside and tell him a few stories, not even one story in he fell asleep, I didn't want to wake him and so we fell asleep together." He chuckled and I smiled resting my head on his shoulder.

"He really likes you, you know that right." I told him, he nodded.

"I like him too." He said and I smiled, "But that's not what you wanted to tell me, was it?" He said and I sighed.

"Daniel, he uhm." I said and I could feel James tense up, "He asked me to marry him. I said no of course, but he kept persisting that as Leo's parents it only makes sense that we're married." I continued.

"What did you tell him?"

"Told him that according to Leo's birth certificate his father is dead and then I left." I said making James burst out laughing, surprisingly Leo didn't wake up from the sudden noise.

"You are brilliant, you know that right." He sighed putting one of his arms around my shoulder.

"I've been told so before." I smiled leaning in to kiss him but we were stopped by the sound of apparating in the distance. "Take Leo inside James." I said quickly getting up, he looked at me confused for a second but complied.

"What are you doing here Rosier?" I asked recognising Evan almost instantly as he came closer.

"It's Reg." He said and my heart started beating rapidly, what could possibly have happened to him in the span of a month. "He's uhm." He stopped rubbing the back of his neck. "He's joined the dark lord, I'm so sorry Jules." He told me, his voice cracking slightly.

"He's only going into his last year now, surely they aren't recruiting students now." I asked him, he didn't look me in the eyes.

"Bella might have had a role in it, says your whole family got roped in, those who resisted got disowned." He told me.

"You're also my family Evan, does this mean you're in ranks with them too?" I asked.

"I joined right after school. As a spy." He said and I couldn't help but gawk at him, was I hearing this, Evan Rosier, the most ruthless Slytherin I knew became a spy for Dumbledore.

"How do I know you're telling the truth."

"Do you honestly think I would be stupid enough to show up here if I wasn't trying to warn you about something." He snapped and I crossed my arms over my chest.

"Well spit it out why don't you."

"They're coming for you. The whole lot of them, your parents aren't happy about what you did last summer, and they're even more pissed you turned down Daniel's proposal." He said.

"Last summer, seriously, wait hold on they knew about Daniel's proposal." I asked him and he lowered his head.

"They used the imperious curse on him, made him write you a letter to meet up, Daniel had no intentions of returning, those letters you received from his mother all those years ago was written by Druella, all this was done so that they could control you." A tear fell down my cheek.

"So what, Leo was just a pawn for them to use against me, he's their bloody grandson for Merlin's sake." I started yelling, he didn't attempt to stop me which I appreciated, "What are you going to tell me next, the whole meeting between me and Daniel was also planned, us sleeping together, him showing up at Hogwarts unexpectedly, was nothing in my life ever under my own control." I asked him, unable to stop the tears that spilled from my eyes.

"Rosier, I need you to leave now." I heard James coming up behind me, Evan nodded and without another word he was gone, "You're alright darling, everything will be alright, they can't get to you here." James whispered into my hair as he pulled me close to him. I just wanted everything to be normal again, of normal was ever a possibility.
