Chapter 29:

Hayley's POV:

"What else do we need?" He asks as I scan the list.

"I think we are all done for now." I look up at him and smile.

He smiles back.

I am more than ready to get off my feet.

We have been walking all day trying to get all the things ready for when the baby comes.

Taylor insists that I should be in charge of decoration for the nursery. Says it would be straining to my back.

But I chose to ignore him.

Decorating that room has become second nature to me at this point.

Besides, it makes it all so surreal.

He pushes the kart towards the register. Having me follow right by his side.

I help him unload some stuff.

Nothing too big for that matter.

Just the clothes and a few baby bottles.

He takes care of the bigger stuff.

I stand by the register as he unloads.

My wallet already in my hand.

That's when I see the first thing the cashier scans;

A small pink guitar.

I roll my eyes playfully.

He gives me a sheepish smile and comes to my side.

His arm on my growing bump. He kisses my forehead.

"I'm not surprised York." I say.

He chuckles, "Just thought she could use a present from daddy." He says.

I giggle. "You know she is going to be so spoiled."

He nods. "With love especially."

I nod. "Especially that."

**

"It isn't that heavy." I say as I get the bags from the trunk of the car.

"Well you try and get a rocking chair up the stairs then."

I stick my tongue out at him.

He chuckles and shakes his head.

"If you want I can call Jeremy over?" I unlock the door and let him in with the box in his arms.

He overlooks the living room.

The place looks like a baby depo has thrown up all over it.

We were still in the mist of clearing out one of the guest room and turning it into the nursery.

He inhales deeply and scratches his head.

"You'd think he'll want to drive down and give us a hand?"

I bite the inside of my thumb.

"I'll call and see."

He nods and takes a water bottle from the fridge.

Getting one for me as well.

It was on the second ring that he picked up.

"Why hello little one."

I smile. "That nickname will never leave me, will it?"

He chuckles. "Sorry, people under 5ft get to be called that."

"I'm 5'2!" I defend my size.

"Are you really? Feels like 5ft to me." I roll my eyes and giggle.

"Listen gigantor," he laughs on the other end, "your band needs you."

I plop myself on the couch.

"What's up? Are we writing new songs?"

I sigh, "I wish." I bite down on my lip.

"What's up Hayles?"

"WE have a dilemma here. You see Taylor and I have a guest bedroom to finish clearing out, and a nursery to construct. And..."

"And you want me to come over and help?" He cuts me off.

I smile. "How'd you ever figure that out?"

He chuckles. "Guess I'm that smart."

"See you in a few... hopefully...?"

"I'll be on my way."

He hangs up the phone.

"Got you a partner!" I say to Taylor.

"So I heard." He comes up from behind the wall.

"DO you love me now?" I bat my eyelashes.

"I guess so." He leans down to me and kisses my nose.

Suddenly the baby begins to move.

"Ah!" I pull his hand quickly towards my bump. "Feel."

The moving intensifies.

"She likes you." I smile up at him.

He smiles down at me and turns his attention to her.

"Hey my little punk rock princess."

I giggle.

Right then I could easily feel her hand pressing up against his.

I cover my mouth as our eyes fill with endless joyful tears.

"Hello daddy..." I say in a baby voice.

WE look at each other and share a million tearful giggles.
