Aayesha looked down at her daughter's face which still had the marks of dried tears. Aini had immediately declined the proposal when she had come to her room. Aayesha tried to explain it to her that she herself is against all of this, but she has no power to do anything else. Aini had cried and tried to make her mother understand that whatever her Bade-Abbu and Abba is doing is not right in any way. Nor in the eyes of God nor legally. Aayesha could feel her daughter's turmoil but she knows where she stands in the eyes of her husband and in this house, and no matter how hard she tries or plead to her husband... he will never listen to her; well, he never have.

Right now, Aini was asleep in her mother's lap exhausted because of all the crying and tension of her Bade-Abbu's illogical wish. All she could think was about how can she get married and that too in an age where she is standing at a point in her life when she needs to select her subjects and field of study for her career... not wedding dress and jewellery. Moreover... Fakhir, her husband...it's not making any sense to her. Fakhir in no way is sensible or mature enough to understand anything and marriage is not something which can be regarded as a doll's play.

Sameena was waiting for Fakhir to return. It has been more than an hour since he had given his answer and stormed out of the house. Furthermore, Zaheer and Amma had also lectured her on how can a son outright decline what his father is asking to do and what all she has taught him and told her to make Fakhir understand that there are no ifs and buts in this matter, and he will do as his father tells him to.
She was in deep thoughts when she heard the main gate open and saw her son entering the house.

Fakhir looked up and saw his mother waiting for him and felt bad for going out like this, but what else could he do; Zaheer had always been strict with him and never really understood him and his feelings. But this wish of his father was too much to endure for his age.
He slowly walked towards her, mumbled a small "sorry" and hugged her mother. Sameena could clearly understand how he must be feeling and held her son closely to provide the only support she can give to him.

It was the next morning and being a Sunday, everyone was present in the home. Breakfast was laid down and one by one everyone came & sat for the first meal of the day.

Zaheer looked at his son who sat there playing with his food and called him "Fakhir... eat properly. Then you have to go with me to get some things for your wedding."

Fakhir's already spoiled mood turned into a bad one, he looked up and answered his father while trying to keep his temper in check "Baba... please, I am requesting you to stop this. I am not getting married in this age and that too with Aini. I can't do this."

Zaheer knew that this would be the reaction he will be getting, but he was not the one to back out from his decisions. "This is not up for discussion and bargain. It's my final decision and you will have to abide by it. Understood?"

Fakhir took a deep breath to control himself and looked at Aini, who was sitting in the last beside Faiza looking extremely drained.
"Aini" he called out and Aini looked up towards him, and others... who were now starting both of them.

"Aini, say something... do you really want to do this?" he asked her in a loud and clear voice.

Aini although is the best speaker and debater in her school... but is never allowed to voice out her opinions in front of her family members, especially the elders, so she stammered and looked nervous at the moment.

"Uhh...umm...I... Ye...yes Bade Abbu. I also don't want to marry right now. I have dreams which I want to achieve. M... My studies are the main priority of my life. I... I can't do this." She said softly but loud enough for everyone to hear it.

The expressions on Habib and Amma's face were telling that they didn't like it one bit when Aini spoke up.

"This is how you have brought up your daughter...?" Habib charged at Aayesha at once "Look at her... talking back like this in front of everyone." Aini felt her heart squeezing painfully while listening to her father's word.

Zaheer who has always loved Aini more than his own son sometimes, was hurt. But he stood up and walked up to her, who looked a little bit scared all of a sudden.

"Aini beta... this is your Bade Abbu's promise that you can study and achieve your dreams, as you wish. But can't you fulfil your Bade Abbu's last wish?" she looked up with a confusion brimming in her eyes. She really respected him, but this wish of his was looking like a chain who will bind her to a life which she doesn't want to live.

She looked at Fakhir helplessly, not knowing what to do or say at this point and he himself felt like standing in a maze with no way out.
