Just one thing, before you all proceed... I know it's fictional... but still, our story's Main Characters are TEENAGERS and HUMANS, both.. and they will act, react and behave like that only.

As a reader, you would definitely have many thoughts... BUT... before jumping to any conclusion, do place yourself in their shoes. I hope you all understand.

Thank you 🙂

ENJOY & YES... DON'T RUSH

Fakhir entered the room and saw Aini sitting on the sofa with her book in her hands, but her mind was somewhere else. He sighed seeing her like this.. it was third or the fourth time, he had caught her like this in past two days. But, whenever... he asked her, the only response he got was either 'Nothing' or 'It's fine'

At first, he thought it was some college stuff... but now he knows that it's something else and the matter somewhat includes him as well; because not only she is being weird but she is being weird around him.

Two weeks... it has been two weeks since that extremely intense slip up between them. Yes, the following days were too awkward and confusing. But with time the tension had simmered down and the topic was shifted to the back burner.

Initially, he had thought to talk to her or may be apologize to her for being like that... as he felt that he crossed a line which he shouldn't have, at least not without her permission, but couldn't form exact or right words for it... although, seeing her acting so aloof he thought to just go with it and then ask her as well... what's the matter with her.

.
.

Aini, was engrossed in her thoughts when she felt a tap on her shoulder, making her jerk out.

She turned to her right and saw Fakhir looking at her...

"Ye aise khuli book ke sath beth ne se, dimag me kuch nahi jata" he began "mera aazmaya hua hai" his tone light and playful

Aini shook her head, "Ghonchu" she mumbled

"Ghonchu hogi tum khud" he retorted and snatched the book from her hand, making her shriek

"Fakhir... give it back" she stretched her hand towards him... but obviously the difference between their heights made it impossible for her

Fakhir's playful grin widened as he held the book out of her reach, enjoying her futile attempts to reclaim it. Aini, not the one to give up easily, reached out with determination, her hand stretching towards her book.

But as she leaned forward, Fakhir deftly shifted backward, his back against the sofa's armrest, and in a swift motion, his free hand encircled her waist and he brought her hovering self, down on his chest. Causing her to yelp and gripping his shoulders tightly to steady herself.

....

The contact left both of them frozen at their place; and why wouldn't it... After that day, their interactions had been limited to talks only and nothing else.

The charged silence enveloped them, punctuated only by the sound of their breathing, which filled the stillness of the room.

Their eye-contact contest was abruptly interrupted by the sound of the book falling from Fakhir's grasp on the floor, shattering the fragile bubble of closeness that had enveloped them.

Startled, Aini quickly kept a hand on his chest and pushed herself back. But Fakhir gripped her waist and pulled her towards himself...

"W-what a-are you doing?" Aini stammered
