Fakhir stretched his hand to the other side of the bed but found it cold... he opened his eyes and scanned the room... empty.

The notification sound from his phone, reared him back from his sleepiness and he picked up the device to check the notification... office stuff, making him groan out 'Sunday ko toh baksh do' he thought and sat up.

"Fakhir" came a voice

He turned to find his Amma coming inside

"Fakhir, get up. I know it's your birthday, but it doesn't mean that you would waste your whole day like this..." Sameena said, as she scanned the room... all clean and organized. Except the gifts piled up on the sofa, everything else was set in its place.

Fakhir nodded his head and made its way towards the bathroom to get freshen up.

Aini was in the lawn with Faiza, helping her with some of her work.

"Aini" Faiza said "what would you be doing now? School is done, now what...?"

"Engineering" Aini replied "Principal ma'am has told me about the admissions with scholarship, my grades are good enough... but still, they are top collages for Pre-engineering, I don't know if I could make it" her expression serious

Faiza kept her hand on Aini's shoulder and said "Don't worry Aini, just fill out the forms and hope for the best. In Sha Allah, everything will be fine" and gave a smile to her sister, who smiled back at her.

"So, when will you go for this?" Faiza asked, after closing her notebook

"In few days forms will be out then, In Sha Allah"

Faiza nodded and then with a serious expression she asked, "Aini... uss din Abba ne jo kaha tha, aur jab unko pata chale ga toh... wo aur gussa honge"

Aini gave her a smile which didn't look like one,

"Faiza... then you only tell me na, what should I do? Abba is not being reasonable at all and you know I am not going to stop at anything, aur waise bhi Fakhir ne kaha hai wo sab sambhal le ga... so I have put my trust in my Allah swt. and him" Aini said

Faiza smiled and held her sister's hand, "Aini, well I didn't know that Fakhir would take a stand for you like this... that too in front of everyone. Yeh wo wala Fakhir hi nahi lagta, jisko kisi cheez ki koi parwa nahi hoti thi, he has changed so much"

A genuine smile made its way on Aini's face, "Sahi keh rahi ho, insaan kitna badal jaata hai halaat aur waqt ki wajah se"

"Accha waise..." Faiza said, after some time "Fakhir ko bataya tumne aaj ka plan?"

"Nahi abhi nahi, Janab so rahe hai... and there's still time. I'll tell him"

Just then Sameena came to them

"Aini" she said

"Ji Badi Ammi"

"Fakhir uth gaya hai, please just go and check on him. Nashte ka pooch lena kya khana hai usse and even in lunch or dinner if he wants anything special" Sameena told Aini

"Ji Badi Ammi" and with that she stood up and made her way inside the house.

Fakhir was looking at the small wrapped gift which he had found on the dressing table when he came out after his morning routine.

The gift covered in a blue wrapping was without any name tag on it. He was thinking about who would have given this when he heard the sound of the door closing and turned around to find Aini standing near it.
