Even though Fakhir had made sure no one spoke about Hamza's matter anymore in the house, but Aini could feel the shift in the air around her.

Her own Badi Ammi, had looked displeased since that incident, however she hadn't said anything to her... but her actions spoke a lot.

"Badi Ammi" Aini said quietly, as she sat on the bed in her Badi Ammi's room

"Hmm" Sameena replied, as she kept away her pile of clothes away and looked at Aini with a calculating gaze

"Aap naraz hai humse?" Aini asked

"Hona chahiye?" Sameena answered with a question

Aini sighed and took hold of her hand

"Badi Ammi hum aap ko koi safai dene nahi aaye hai... hum baat karne aaye hai, jese humlog karte hai. We talk, converse and clear out every confusion. This is what we are, haina" Aini said truthfully

"Trust me Badi Ammi, there was never anything between me and Hamza before and never will be. You have raised me; don't you know how I am? You know what school and my studies are to me and most importantly... how could you question your own upbringing... beti nahi hoon kya mein aap ki, or are you just seeing me as your bahu?" Aini asked, her voice filled with emotions

Sameena looked at the girl sitting in front of her, she had never doubted on Aini in any way... but the picture and what everyone was saying instilled sort of questions in her mind as well, and she was now aware that she shouldn't have done it.

"No, it's not like that. But we live in a society where one wrong step and everything goes down the hill" Sameena said, earning a nod from Aini

"I have never seen you as my son's wife... you are my daughter of whom I am proud of and I am happy to see you with Fakhir and how you both are trying your best to make everything easy and manageable for both of you. However, we can't neglect the house and its duties... now, as Fakhir had told us that day about you starting with your college as well, but let me remind you a home needs time and care... on which I don't want any negligence on that part. I hope you are understanding what I am saying" Sameena said

Aini nodded and said "Ji Badi Ammi, I truly understand. My studies will never come in between my duties towards my family and home. Par aap please, khafa na hoya kare humse" she said with a pout on her lips, like a small kid

It made Sameena smile at her and then she took Aini in a motherly hug

"Tumse kese khafa ho sakte hai, aapke Shohar sahab jo aajate hai aapki himayat karne" she said with a little tease, making Aini hide her face in her embrace and they both laughed at Sameena's words.

Aini was peacefully sleeping when a loud thud jolted her awake. She sat up and scanned the room, checking the time -12:30 am

'Where is he?'

She was about to come down from the bed to look for Fakhir, but the next moment only she saw him entering the room with something in his hands.
