Short. But for all you Tamlex shippers :)

Alex P.O.V

"Tea, what would you do if you met the guy that saved you?"

I casually ask her as we lay in the grass. We both finished our sets and are hiding away in a grassy valley not far from the venue. I play with pieces of her long wavy hair as she thinks of an answer.

"I don't know. I'd definitely thank him but i'd also ask why he did it. Especially so many times I'm surprised he didn't just give up. Do you know who it is?"

she asks already knowing my answer. She's asked me before, when we were younger because I was her next door neighbour.

"Sorry Sweet Tea," is all I say. She sighs.

"I have no idea how to repay him," she tells me.

"Well aren't most nights in shining armour rewarded with a kiss?" I ask.

She laughs, and I poke her nose. Her faces scrunches up and I smile.

"What?" she asks

"Nothing," I laugh a bit at her concern.

"What did you do?" she panics sitting up

"Nothing!" I try to reason through my laughter.

"Alex"

She frowns and weakly punches my arm.

"Tell me."

she pouts. I pull her flat to the grass and lay down next to her. Cradling her cheek I say

"Nothing, you just make me happy."

she mirrors my smile and cuddles in closer to me. Maybe I don't need to tell her. Maybe she'll really fall in love with me.

Flashback

I threw my backpack to the ground and raced up the stairs two at a time. I knew I would beat her, the ninth graders get out before the seventh graders. I quickly changed into a cleaner shirt, brushed my teeth and tried to fix my hair. I played with it hoping it would sit right, she makes me crazy. I then moved out of the bathroom and back to my room, grabbing my guitar and tuning it. I  peeked out the window that faced the front and saw her making her way up to her house. She looked perfect, cheeks flushed, hair long and wavy. I swear I could see the blue in her eyes from all the way upstairs. I cracked open the side window that faces hers. I wait for  her to open her blinds and crack the window, but she doesn't. I can see her shadow through the sheer blinds, she's pacing back and forth. I hear her start to cry, softly. Only I could hear her, her parents weren't home. They never were. I was wondering what was wrong so I tumbled down stairs and next door to her house, letting myself in with the password she told me years ago. I slowly climbed the stairs to her room, and wondered if I was just being over concerned. I saw her door is shut tight. I lightly knocked and said

"Tea?"

but she didn't reply. I opened the un-locked door and carefully peered in. I saw her lying on the ground, a pool of red formed around her. White envelopes stained red at the edges, and a kitchen knife at her side. I screamed and ran over to her hugging her tightly, seeing if she was still breathing. I called the police telling them the address. I tied scarves of hers I found around the wounds and just held her close. I stroked her hair and whispered all the things I regret never saying to her. When the ambulance arrived, I took the letters and left. Not being old enough to ride in the ambulance without parental permission. But they're never around. I ran to the pond, where me and Tea would go together. I sat there with tears streaming down my face and I read the letter that was assigned to me. Why would she do this? Why would she leave me like that? What did I do? She wrote that I can't save her. But I did. I will. I always will, no matter what.
