I woke up to the sound of my alarm clock, I got up got changed into my long sleeve white top and black trousers, put on my black high heel shoes, my brown bag and gave my hair a quick brush through. When I opened my bedroom door, everyone was already up.

All 4 of us had been friends since secondary school and when we found a 3 bedroom flat smack down in the middle of busy London, with a good sized living area it was a dream come true for all of us. Myself and Susan worked for 'Young's, interior design' for the past 2 months as graduates and unfortunately since then I have had a stalker. But enough about that. Let me introduce my friends:

Olive worked at her family's florist shop and on the weekends worked at the family nursery just outside London.

Heather was are chef, she had just finished her last year at university and was already applying for jobs, whilst currently working at a small part time job at a local cafe. Coming from a wealthy family background of famous lawyer's, she wanted to go her own way and earn her own living, without her parents supporting her. They only sent her money for the rent, for the meantime which was agreed upon, to the annoyance of both her parents.

I was pulled out of my thoughts when Heather asked whilst flipping pancakes "Alice, do you fancy any. I've got the day off today, so I'm practicing some new pancake ideas for the cafe" I licked my lips at the sight of what was on the table: there was chocolate and fruit pancakes, a bowl of cut up mango, watermelon and strawberries, a jug of orange juice, maple syrup and strawberry jam. I didn't realise how hungry I was, after all I had forgotten to eat last night, after a stack of papers for my boss Mr Young and my phone pinging throughout the night, from my 'admirer'.
I looked at my watch and saw that it was already 6am, I had an hour to get to Mr Young's favourite coffee house to get his Chai Latta before the morning rush, get through Piccadilly Circus to get to my desk just before 8:30am, when Mr Young would then arrive.

All eyes where on me, Susan got up and said whilst putting some of the pancakes in an airtight box "I knew you would do this. Since I know there is a high chance you won't be eating anything, I had this box ready for you" I felt my eyes welling up, at the sound of this.
Ever since the death of my adopted family at the age of 13 years old, with no where to go except for foster families, I never felt the sense of family love even with my adopted family even though they were kind and loving towards me.

Olive must of seen the look on my face, because she got up, walked over to and hugged me tight whilst saying "don't worry Alice, we can be your family. We all think you as a sister, are lives would never be the same without you in it" I didn't trust myself to talk, so I gave all of them a small smile.

Susan gave me the airtight box with the pancakes, with jam and a fork that was also in it and with that I quickly left.
