I straightened the tie to my uniform and brushed out the cursed skirt I had to wear with my uniform, another interesting year of highschool starting. I walked down the stairs and grabbed my bag heading out, fully expecting Kenma to be right outside my house as usual, but he wasn't.

for a minute I was panicked, thinking something bad had happened, but I collected myself and walked over to his house. I knocked on the door and Kenma's mom had answered.

"oh, Kireina-chan, sweetie, what're you doing here?"

"Kenma wasn't at my house, so I was checking if he was okay"

"y'know, now that I think about it, I haven't heard a peep from him this morning. here," she stepped aside, letting me into the house, "you can go check his room"

I walked up the stairs worriedly, finally making it to Kenma's room and opening the door up.

"kenma, wake up!" I spoke to him, shaking him a little as he laid in bed fast asleep.

"huh?" he asked groggily as he turned over to me.

"it's the first day of school, get up, we're going to be late"

"huh-OH" he spoke, jumping up. I excused myself from the room and let him get dressed. We both had to run to the train station to catch the shinkansen just in time.

"why didn't you get up?" I asked him worriedly. I brushed his grown out hair out of his face.

"Kuroo's usually the one to wake me up" he said almost ashamedly.

"oh" I said, slight sadness in my tone.

"I'll just have to figure out a way to get up on my own now" Kenma said, pulling out his psp and looping his arms around me so the psp was infront of us as I turned so I could watch him play.

"I'll just call you and I'll meet you at your house"

"No, it's okay, you deserve your rest. we'll make sure everything gets back to normal"

"it's not going to be exactly the same though" I dejectedly said

"but we can at least get close though" kenma spoke nuzzling his face into my neck, still keeping his eyes trained on the video game because he had a gut feeling of a boss showing up.

we both walked onto campus hand in hand, looking out onto the school we were just at less than a few months ago.

"kireina-chaaaaannnnnnn" you could hear Yamamoto excitedly yell as he ran over to Kenma and I

"hi, Yamamoto" i laughed, sarcastically rolling my eyes.

"look, guess who's captain now!" he pushed a piece of paper into mine and Kenma's face and it was a document stating the schedule for all of the captain's meetings

"Yamamoto, we've known since the end of last year" i said with a deadpan face, "but, anyways, let's see who the other captains and vice captains are"

i grabbed the paper from Yamamoto's hands and took a look.
