it had been about several months after the twins visited and everyone stayed the night. the twins came and visited still as normally scheduled. you carried on with the same routine except now kenma insisted on walking you home.
on their way back from your house kuroo would nag kenma about 'getting the guts and finally asking you out' but kenma would just brush it off which would only lead kuroo to complain more and occasionally bring up the failed plans of asking you out but kenma deciding against it at the last minute.
you and kenma started spending a lot more time together, you wanted to give asami some time to spend with inuoka since he asked her out about two weeks ago. that only gave another thing for kuroo to add to the 'things to nag kenma about until he finally mans up' list. on weekends if neither of you were busy you and kenma would go to your guys' favorite arcade and play games together, or you'd both play at your house, whichever fit both of your guys' moods better. you both kept tally of how many wins you had, and you were always determined to keep up with kenma.

you loudly blew the whistle to signal the end of practice and gave all of the boys their water bottles before going off to clean up the gym. kuroo and lev would always laugh at you attempting to carry the pole for the net into the supply closet where it's kept, and today was no different. considering you were so short you struggled a little bit to do certain things while cleaning up the net, but you were determined and managed to take care of it every day.
as all the boys exited the gym you waited for kuroo and kenma, but kuroo said he was staying late for extra practice, which just left you and kenma to walk home.
"hey, you wanna go to the park?" the pudding head asked you
"aren't you tired?"
"no, not really, but if you are we can wait for another day"
"nah, i'm perfectly fine, i was more worried about you. sure, let's go"
both of you were discussing video games when the topic got brought up of both your fan bases.
"yeah mine keeps interrogating me on why i was playing more often with you" you laughed a little bit, thinking about the game you streamed the other night, where your fans were particularly sassy
"yeah, same here, some even made a ship name" kenma said which caused both of you to laugh
"i guess they pay attention more than mine do, mine are usually just throwing questions my way" you smiled at him and then proceeded to say "but it sounds like you've got some hardcore fan girls"
"i wouldn't call them fan girls"
you gave kenma this 'are you serious' look and pulled up his twitter page, the top comments on every one of his posts would almost always be mostly girls "really, then why are all the top comments usually girls" you said laughing and saying smugly
"i dunno, but look, on those three you're the top comment" kenma pointed at your phone screen
"yeah, but am i not a girl?"
"are you calling yourself one of my 'fan girls'" kenma slyly asked and curling his fingers into air quotes
"and maybe i am" you replied which caught him off guard
you both didn't realize that you were already at the park and walking your usual loop around the pond. you both spent the rest of your time joking and having fun as usual. since it was friday you and him could stay out pretty late without getting in trouble, even if you didn't have anyone to get in trouble with, you still only stayed out late on the weekends.
you both were on your way to the akibahara district to go to your favorite arcade and when you boarded the train, it was pretty empty because most people were home by now. you both sat down and you peered over at what game kenma was playing
"you both make an adorable couple" an old lady commented to you and kenma, and immediately your face turned as red as a tomato and you explained to her you weren't a couple but she just smiled and took it with a grain of salt knowing the both had mutual feelings just from looking at the two of you.
you both had a ton of fun at the arcade
"and that's win number 31 for me" you proudly stated
"...compared to my 45 wins on you" kenma said which made you narrow your eyes at him, but then a new machine got your attention. it was a claw machine and there was a big calico cat plushie in it so you quickly ran over inserting enough money for a turn and you tried to get the cat plushie but failed...twice.
"here let me see if i can get it" kenma said while putting in enough money to play, he got it on his first try and handed you the plushie and your eyes lit up
"and that's win number 46"
you didn't care though, he got you the plushie, and you were too busy snuggling it so it didn't matter
kenma wanted to be that plushie
"hey, why did you want that thing anyways?" kenma asked while poking the stuffed animal you had wrapped in your arms infront of you
"it reminded me of someone very special to me" you said
kenma got slightly jealous before asking "oh, who?"
you started laughing which confused him and once you calmed down you said "you, dummy"
kenma profusely blushed at your comment before you both continued to head to your house
while on the train kenma couldn't help but have all of the things about you two being a couple or someone telling him to ask you out run through his head:
"oh you two make such a nice couple" the old lady behind the counter said to the two of you as you were checking out of the grocery store
"just ask her out, she likes you and you know it!"
"kenma, man up and just ask her out already"
"are you and tensai-san dating kozume-san"
"kenma, you should take a page out of lev's book and finally man up (・ω<)"
"come on, you both already look like you're together, just do it"...kuroo then proceeded to throw a fit
"if you're too nervous then just bite the bullet and do it"
kenma collected his thoughts and told himself 'as soon as we get off this train, i'm taking kuro's advice, i'm just gonna bite the bullet"

as you both got off the train kenma spoke up
"hey, neko-chan, you remember that one night we both agreed we wanted to be more than friends"
as soon as he brought that up, your memory resurfaced of that night in full detail before looking over at him and replying "yeah, what about it" it took everything in you to suppress a blush
"well, i was wondering if you were actually serious about that"
"of course i was kenma, or else i wouldn't have said that"
"oh, well i was wondering if you still wanted to be more than friends, like, now" he nervously asked
"what are you saying kenm-"
"i was wondering if you wanted to be my girlfriend by any chance?" he nervously confessed
a bright red blush was visible on your face from all the way across the street as you stuttered out "u-uh-u-um y-ye-yeah o-of course!" and then gave a big smile to him
kenma felt relief wash over him as he pulled you closer and hugged you for a while he then grabbed your hand, lacing his fingers with yours and continued walking alongside you
'y'know kuro, i guess you were right' kenma thought to himself as you both walked in comfortable silence as both of you blushed.
