kenma's pov
" i know who you are, kodzuken"
kenma smiled to himself, 'clever girl, no doubt in my mind about that' he then saw what looked like feint letters on the sticky note so he flipped it over to the back only to see a little message, "text me "see you there" if you find this and want to meet at the small park near the school"

kenma thought to himself for a minute about wether or not to text her, but decided to do so, just so she can at least know he saw the sticky note so he took out his cellphone and opened up a chat with kireina, then texted the phrase written on the sticky note, he then got up and threw his hoodie back on, while silently slipping out of the house and off the the park near nekoma

your pov:
you hear a small ping on your phone while you were walking to the park, you decided even if kenma didn't text you that you still wanted to look out over the pond you and your grandma used to like relaxing at. you looked at the screen only to see the message you wrote on the sticky note was texted to you, you smiled a little, and slightly felt warm, almost excited, but you brushed the feeling off

there was a slight breeze which made sakura petals fall all around you. you enjoyed looking at the petals, seeing them dance around in the wind, sometimes lights around you would make them look as if they were glowing.

you finally got to the park. it was a higher-end park compared to most in the tokyo area, there was a large pond at the center that had lights installed in and around it, so it lit up, and the reflection of the light off the water gave a subtle glow to the things surrounding it. several sakura trees surrounded the pond, benches being placed throughout for visitors to sit and relax on, swans swam about the lake.

you and your grandmother used to sit on the benches around there and talk for hours on end, your grandmother sharing fond stories on your mom and you aunt, along with your grandfather who died before you were born. death was something unfortunately so common in your family, it seems like it was a curse, inescapable, inevitable.

the light thump of footsteps broke you out of your thoughts, but it was only a jogger, somehow you couldn't help but be slightly disappointed. you shifted to pull out a picture of you your mom and grandma that you always carried around with you. those were the two most precious people to you, even if you only had a little time with your mom, and that both were gone. you smiled fondly at the picture, remembering your grandma telling the story behind it

[flashback]
"you know kireina dear, that picture of you me and your mother that you carry with you, the story behind that photo is actually quite funny" your grandmother smiled at you, you gave her a look that urged her to go on, so she did.

"it was in the middle of the hatsumode festival, you were only 3 years old. you looked adorable in your kimono your mother picked out for you that day, as a matter of fact we were in hyōgō that day, and you aunt had a picture of you and the twins up in her house where you were all dressed in the kimono's they bought for you guys that day. you were and atsumu were so excited to see the fireworks, that's all you two could talk about, meanwhile osamu was focused on the food. i swear you and the twins caused such havoc that day, then again, when do you three not,"the elderly woman chuckled, a warm smile still being plastered on her face, it was true the three of you were always close and chaos followed the three of you around like a loyal puppy dog, your grandmother continued,"then i remember the events behind the photo, a little girl had come up to atsumu and kissed him on the cheek, you were playfully fighting to get out of your mother's grasp just so you could go tease him, your aunt couldn't resist so she caught a candid photo of us three together. there's so many more pictures of that day at your aunts house, i swear that girl loves her photos" you and your grandma both laughed, you full knowing that if still given the chance you'd tease atsumu about that"
[end of flashback]

you laughed and thought to yourself 'i'd still tease 'tsumu about that even at 3, even at 11, hell, even now at 16. i guess somethings never change'

you heard another person walking toward you, you didn't bother to look, assuming if it was kenma, he'd sit down next to you. you assumed correctly, suddenly a pudding haired boy in a red hoodie was sitting next to you, the two of you sat in silence for a few minutes, a comfortable silence. you decided to break the silence though since you were curious

"so, how'd you figure it out?"
"you were in class the other day and i'd caught a glimpse of your phone screen while i was on my way to my desk, i wanted to test my luck, i guess kind of as a joke and so i logged onto my account to play and see if i got spawned in the same battle as you," kenma then laughed slightly which made your heart beat a little faster, " i guess my luck was pretty good that day huh? well, anyways i'd seen your gamer tag and then looked at your player, then i made the connection"
"was it really that easy?" you laughed faintly
"no,not really. i still had some questions answered so at lunch that day i went into the library to do some digging, just to make sure my suspicion was correct, that's when i'd also made the other connection of you being the heiress to the RNG company. kuro was there too for part of the time i did my digging, he even has a video where it catches a glimpse of your phone and shows you gaming account on another game"
"huh, well i guess i should've been more careful then" you let out a small giggle for a few seconds which made kenma hunk to himself 'god she's pretty'
"i suppose so. so how did you figure it out kireina-chan"
"well, i actually remember you spawning in the battle and thinking to myself that it was going to be a really good battle, which, to credit you, it was actually really fun"
kenma slightly laughed catching you off guard but you continued,
"then when i found the sticky note on my desk it felt like the handwriting was familiar but i couldn't place it until i got home. i'd gotten home and seen a note kuroo had left here from you asking him to grab you some apple pie that you thought was from the grocery store, oh by the way that reminds me, it actually isn't from the grocery store, it's from my place, it's my favorite type of pie so i learned to make them myself,"
you thought to yourself 'who knew the famous gamer kodzuken liked apple pie so much'
kenma looked over at you slightly shocked and that's the first time you both looked at eachother at the same time the whole conversation, you then carried on,
"i looked at the note you'd left kuroo and the sticky note on my desk and figured that part out, but that left me trying to figure out how you even found out in the first place. i tried pushing it off of my mind, opting instead to play the game we apparently were playing earlier and when i was debating upon buying some credits so i could buy a power up i knew i was out of, i'd suddenly seen that i had some. i was slightly confused at first, i'll admit i kind of underestimated you seeing as that power up is-"
"often overlooked" you both said at the same time, sharing a small laugh together which caused the two of you two blush a little and your heart rates increase
"go on," kenma said very gently to you, which didn't go unnoticed by you
"well, when i'd seen that i had some something switched on in my head and i realized that my rival used those power ups quite often, and then it clicked, because well... if you actually know you in person, your username is kinda obvious"
"i see" kenma said
you then turned to him and the turned to you both fully admiring the other with the soft pale blue light reflecting off the lake hitting both of your guys'
kenma couldn't help but fall a little deeper for the girl, the way her (e/c) orbs shone brighter and her skin had a slight shimmer to it, your beauty was almost intoxicating to him
you then broke the silence once again
"so," you narrowed your eyes slightly and plastered a mischievous look on your face, "neko-kun"
kenma let out a a small sarcastic sigh but still had a smile on his face that told you to continue
"friends?" your look of mischief suddenly faded and a warm smile and kind face was what was left for kenma to observe. kenma then nodded and repeated your sentence

"friends."
