August 20th. Usually when a person's birthday is happening, they all get excited. Some are even moody when it is. But of course everyone remembers the very day, they are born, welcomed to the world. To the Wizarding World for magical beings. All except for one.

This person happens to be Arayna Lovegood, who's turning 17th today. 

During every magical child's 17th birthday. They would have a debut. For more specifically a Lady. A debut is the ideal opportunity to learn about symbolism, significance, and values. Take the 17 roses, for example. The presentation of the rose represents the young lady's transition into full womanhood. Well this most likely happens in the Wizarding World. They would celebrate in balls, and many more that is practically that calls out 'Filthy rich'.

The woman's readiness for romance is symbolized by the 17 flowers. She will dance with 17 men, each of whom will present her with a rose before dancing with her. The 17th rose is traditionally reserved for the debutante's most important guy or special someone in her life, usually her lover or suitor. The debutante's father will perform the first dance, and her special someone, suitor, or best friend will perform the last dance for the 17 roses.

There are 17 candles in total. The lass's path to a bright future is symbolized by the 17 candles. At the debut party, seventeen women will be chosen and will deliver their speeches one by one while holding a lit candle.

There are 17 treasures in total. The 17 treasures represent the things the debutante will need to succeed on her journey to womanhood. Seventeen people will be chosen to present the debutante with a gift. The person giving it to her will give a speech about why he or she chose that particular present for her.

Knocking rapidly is heard on the door.

Arayna groaned in annoyance, and shouted, "Come in,". She looked up from her bed and saw her friends came in her room, "What is wrong with you guys? It's like-" She looked at the clock on her right side of the wall, "7 in the morning?!"

Karina raised a brow looking confused on why she isn't ready yet, when realization hits both her and Marline who also apparently looked confused and has now an exasperated look on her face.

"Do you know what today is?" Karina asked, moving forward towards her bed, then stood on the side with her hands on her hips.

"What the bloody hell are you talking about-" Arayna grumbled in annoyance, and sat up, "What's so important that you almost knocked down my door with your fist knocking it so bad?"

Marline blinked then hurried up to her walk-in closet, and called out to them, "We don't have time! It's your birthday for Merlin's sake! You know the day you turn 17th. The very day you are born and welcomed to the world." And she continued on rambling, and soon turned quiet as she kept looking for clothes for Arayna to wear.

Arayna suddenly fell in realization, and said, "Oh,"

Karina raised a brow, "Oh? You forgot your birthday and you say 'Oh'? The most important one, well after your first birthday.... Anyway get up now. You're family along with Oliver's -well mainly the females- have been organizing your 17th birthday ball since like 2 months ago. Us three will be enjoying the day with little Izzy, Luna and Lyra. She's currently downstairs being cooed by your mother and Luna."
