IN POLICE STATION
Riddhima was sitting in a corner of a cell . She was reminded of her past time where she spent with her family and how she had lost her parents . tears rolled from her eyes , when she thought about the confession of Anupriya .
FLASHBACK
Riddhima's Father 's was the commissioner of the Police , his name was Harinder Menon , he belongs to hindu - malayali family . Riddhima 's mother was Maria Menon , she was malayali -chrisitian. Both of them had a love marriage and both of them married each other against their family wishes because in their respective religions , they are supposed to marry the person who shares their same religion . They both were opposite it to each other . when riddhima and ezhil was sixteen years old, they both had a field trip to go from school .riddhima wanted to go for it but ezhil did not want to go .riddhima was convincing ezhil to go for the trip
Riddhima : ezhil , please agree for the trip , you know right , I want to attend that webinar of that Physiotherapy professor
Ezhil : no way I am not interested in this .
Riddhima : ok fine then I will say to Acha ( father in malayalam language )

Riddhima : mamma , you have no idea how excited I am for the field trip
Ezhil: I am not even excited to go for a trip
Maria showed them in sign language that they should be always together in life , no matter whatever happens. She asked riddhima to promise her .
