chapter- 17 get together

Naina's POV

I woke up from sleep as my phone is ringing continuously, disturbing my beauty sleep.

"Hello?", I asked in a sleepy voice as I pick up the phone with closed eyes.

"Naina, haven't you woken up yet? Girl, we have a meeting, come soon", Kaira the receptionist from the translators' company exclaimed in disbelief and I woke up suddenly.

"Thanks, I will be there on time", I replied and disconnected the call.

Then I went to the washroom and brushed my teeth and took a shower. I wore a black ankle length sleeveless dress with a white shrug. Put on little makeup and kept my hair loose after combing them.

"Going on a date with my bro?", I remarked once I entered the living room where Payal is having breakfast and Pooja is in the kitchen preparing Dosa.

She nodded shyly looking down at her plate.

"So, you are not coming to get together", I asked, knowing the answer.

"Nope. She is going out with your bro na... how will she come", Pooja teased.

"No. She is going out with her boyfriend", I winked at her, sitting beside her.

"Stop teasing me", Payal whined like a kid.

"Hello, girls", my brother's voice beamed in the living room just then.

"Happiest birthday, Avi", I jumped on him and to my luck, he caught me.

"It's your gift and make sure to gift me on my birthday", I said sarcastically and gave him the box from my side bag.

"Is this business or what?", he chuckled. "What is it?" he asked before opening.

"I wanna know too. Open it, bro", Pooja remarked coming from the kitchen.

"Wow. This is beautiful", Avi said looking at the tie in his hand.

Yeah, I bought him tie after thinking so much. There are not many gifts for men, literally. If you want to gift a girl, there will be more choices but for men it's really less. This tie idea is also not mine, Arnav suggested it to me and thank him, Avi liked it.

After talking for some time Avi left with Payal. We gave them send off after teasing them a lot.

"I am going too. I will come to the restaurant directly, send me the address", I said to Pooja as I took my bag and phone, ready to go out.

"Where are you going without having breakfast?", Pooja asked strictly while pouring Dosa batter on the pan to make dosa.

"I am getting late, Pooja. I don't have time to eat", I remarked.

"No way you are going out without having breakfast", she said sternly and made me sit on the chair at the table.

"I will feed you and you eat quickly and go wherever you want", she said and sat beside me with the plate.

"You don't listen, do you?", I commented and opened my mouth when she put a piece of Dosa in front of my mouth.

She fed me really quick and I ate without spilling anything on me.

"Bye, babe. I love you", I said as I stood up from the chair after having breakfast.

"Bye, darling and I love you too", she gave me a flying kiss and I gave her back before stomping out of the house.

I boarded a bus and reached the office on time.

I attended the boring meeting and translated things for them. They thanked me as their deal was finalized and invited me for the party at night in the pub and I politely rejected them.
