Ghost's pov

I lowered my binoculars for a second and frowned.

YN is pretty badly hurt.

"Should we move in?" Soap asked.

"Negative. We agreed only to step in if YN really needed us." Price said and I brought the binoculars back to my eyes.

She was limping across the open field.

She's in danger.

"Could you not look at YN through the sniper? It's dangerous." I didn't take my eyes off my future wife but had noticed Soap looking through the gun.

"I don't have binoculars on me!" He snapped back.

"That's to bad. Stop pointing a gun at YN. I don't like it."

"Aww shucks. Look at Ghost being all protective over his fiancé." Gaz laughed.

"Shut it, Garrick."

"I am happy you made an attachment, Ghost. It's healthy. And you're happy." Price smiled.

I said nothing.

I was to embarrassed.

"She collapsed. Should we move in?" Soap asked again.

I watched YN stumble to her feet and continue her way through the grass.

"She's strong. She'll make it."

I believe in her.

She really is the strongest person I know.

I can't believe she agreed to marry me.

I don't deserve her.

Not in the slightest.

What does she see in me?

I want to ask her but I'm to embarrassed.

But surprisingly, I'm very comfortable around her. More than I have been with anyone else.

I watched her collapse again.

This time she didn't get up.

"I'll go get her." I walked down the mountain and exited the small forest.

After a ten minute walk out of the tree line, I found her in a puddle of her own blood.

I felt a lump in my throat.

I didn't think it was this bad.

I rolled her over and felt for a pulse.

It's there. But she must just have overworked herself.

I sighed and picked her up.

I told her not to come on this damned mission.

I could see she was still weak.

I didn't want her to get hurt so we all followed her to make sure she'd be okay.

But of course, she didn't need our help.

I underestimated her once again.

When will I learn?

YN doesn't need me.

I wanted to kiss her forehead but I decided to wait for when we weren't in public.

What if someone other than task force 141 is watching?

That would put a huge target on YN.

I could never live with myself if I did that to her.

I love her.

I....love her?

Of course I do.

But it's strange.

How can I love?

After all this time?

"Ghosty?"

I looked down and YN had opened her eyes.

She smiled at me and let out a giggle.

Butterflies flew around my stomach and a part of me wanted to kill them for being there.

I don't want to be in love!

That's for school children!

Not for killing machines.

She snuggled into me and let out another giggle.

"Ow." She smiled.

"Are you okay?"

"Peachy now that I'm with you." She beamed.

I love her so much.
