"So, how is married life going?"

"It's going pretty good."

"You sure? Things seem rocky between the two of you."

"Only because of Kat."

"I always knew Ghost wasn't meant to be a family man. He does not like to be tied down. Throwing a baby in to the mix may have made him yearn for his freedom once more."

I glanced at him then at my hands in my lap.

"He says he's okay."

"He says that. But do you know why he Ghosted Kat?"

"No?"

"I hear it's because she got pregnant."

My blood went ice cold.

"What?"

"Things were getting to serious for him. He wanted out."

"But... he's not like that anymore. He's changed."

"Do men ever really change, YN?"

I felt like he punched me in the gut.

"You should have looked for a better man. A family man. A man that can be intimidating yet gentle. It's not to late to change your mind. I can help."

"Oh." I laughed bitterly. "And how exactly would you be able to help?"

I heard him open his mouth when my phone rang.

It's Ghost.

Do I want to answer?

I took a shaky breath but clicked the green button.

"What took you so long to answer?"

"I was sitting on my phone and had to fight to get it, sorry. What's up?"

"I just wanted to see if you were still alive."

"How romantic."

"Aren't you to tired to play Just Dance?"

"It'll only be a few rounds."

"Have it your way."

He hung up.

I gulped.

"Having to lie. Never a good sign of security in a relationship. Having to lie due to fear of a partner? Not good."

I wanted to tell him to shut up but I decided to stay silent.

We pulled into the base and I stepped out.

The Jeep pulled in next to us and I made my way inside.

"Shh, the baby is asleep!" Stacy whispered and Makia looked up at us.

"What is she doing here?" Soap gasped.

"Isn't Makia dead?" Gaz looked at me.

"Yeah, well, she's back. And she came to watch her niece."

"Not for free I didn't."

I rolled my eyes and went to my room to get the two envelopes with the cash tucked away.

I returned and handed them both the envelopes.

"Aww, thanks!"

"500, that's it?" Makia frowned.

"Don't be ungrateful." I rolled my eyes.

"Yeah, whatever."

"Everyone but Ghost was still in shock that Makia was alive.

"We're gonna play Just Dance before we go to bed. Wanna join?" I asked.

"Nah, Makia is getting cranky. I gotta get her to bed." Stacy giggled.

"It's two hours past my sleeping schedule." She snapped at me.

"You fall asleep at 10? Weirdo."

"Alright, bye guys!" Stacy waved and dragged my sister out of the room. I heard a car start and they drove away.

Stacy is definitely driving.

She's the one that speeds and acts more reckless.

Makia drives more calm and follows traffic laws.
