𝐎𝐫𝐢𝐠𝐢𝐧:
Iapetus played a minor role in the Titanomachy, the war between the Titans and Olympian gods. He's not prominently defined, but as a Titan, he would have had great strength and endurance. The etymology of his name is also uncertain, but it doesn't have a widely accepted meaning.

With Asia and/or Clymene, he fathered Prometheus (Forethought), Epimetheus (Afterthought), Atlas, Menoetius (Violent Anger), Anchiale and Buphagus

No specific symbols are widely associated with Lapetus.

Iapetus is often overshadowed by his more famous children. He is known as the father of Prometheus, the Titan who defied Zeus by giving fire to humanity, and Atlas, who was condemned to hold up the sky.
