Promises

Chapter 2

*Autumn's POV still*
I stand there stunned for a while, not realizing he was still standing in front of me. "Oh, Hey Luke,' I try to act casual; i call him by his nickname, "what lessons you got today?".
"Oh you know, the usual. Maths, English, more maths." He replied whilst letting a small laugh escape his mouth. "You wanna hang round my place later? Mums out till 6" He asks me. Inside i'm screaming 'yes' with all the excitement I have, but I try to act cool and say "sure" .
Lucas soon walks away with a smile formed onto his lips, it was contagious, as I smiled too. "There's your chance Rose" Emelia Nudges me. "I know mills, I'm just scared of his response. He might not wanna be friends with me anymore" I reply, more downcast than before.
"Are you dumb?" She laughs, "you're beautiful. Of course he'll like you! If he doesn't he's missing out... He wouldn't let a friend like you go" she reassures, I hope she's right.
*Later On That Day*
"Thanks for waiting for me" I say to Lucas, while beginning to walk with him down the path, "no problem" he smiles. We arrive at his house, when he gets inside he sprung onto the sofa, cuddling up to the pillow whilst a smile grew on his face. "Your such an idiot!" I laugh, holding my stomach to try and stop it hurting.
"You wanna head down to the park and take Missy for a walk?" He asks Gesturing to his dog, "sure!" I replied, slightly excited.
When we got there we sat down on an old bench, letting Missy run around on the grass for a while. Lucas moved closer next to me, putting his arm around me. 'Do friends do this?'. 'Probably... He's just trying to comfort me', I thought to myself.
Suddenly, he rested his chin upon my shoulder, which made me realize how close his face was to mine. For a while I listened to his heavy breathing, warm against my neck. Just then I noticed his eyes laying upon me, so I looked down and met my gaze with his. I stared into his deep hazel eyes, waiting for him to say something to me. Anything.

*Lucas' POV*
She is so beautiful. Her face is so close to mine, I couldn't help myself. I lent in and kissed her meaningfully, I hope it doesn't ruin our friendship. Without hesitation she kissed me back, I held her waist tightly. I love her.

*Autumn's POV*
After about 5seconds, I realized what was happening. I suddenly pulled away, breathing heavily from the kiss. Wait. He just kissed me? I held back because I couldn't believe he felt the same way about me, that all my worrying was for nothing. The moment was perfect... That was Until stupid me broke it off.
"Autumn, I am so sorry. I didn't mean to just kiss you like that. I hope we can still be friends, i-i just-- oh god-" he began to say, but I placed a light kiss upon his lips to reassure him, "its okay," I say as I smile, a big cheesy grin formed across his face once again. The silence afterwards caused us to laugh hysterically, whilst I took in what happened a minute ago. I couldn't believe he liked me back.
