Magic Is Real, Babe AU

Magnus hummed to himself as he added the last touch of glitter to his eyeshadow. He was going full out for his last night as ring leader. Magnus worked at a carnival that had a circus inside, he was the ring leader but it was finally his last show before he could retire and go into the business he actually wanted to participate in, makeup artist.

Magnus couldn't help his love for the beautiful eyeshadows to the creamy lipsticks, or even the beautiful glitter he had to have on at least for 14 hours a day.

Magnus wore a black V line shirt with a dark blue glittery blazer over it. He had in tight black jeans and some classic black dress shoes. He had on his many rings and even added his full finger ring on one of his perfectly done black nails. He made sure his hair was up perfectly and then stood up and walked out and waited behind the curtain for showtime. He got the signal and he put on famous smile and walked out and lifted his hands up.

"Welcome, to the freak show!" Magnus yelled and did a really cool move with his hand and lifted it up high. A few sparks came out and then smoke came.

When the smoke cleared the clowns walked in. They weren't necessarily the clowns you'd expect. They didn't wear oversized suits but gothic like clothes. Their makeup made them look pale and they had black lipstick and lines on their faces. They scooted around on unicycles and juggled. Jem and Tessa started chasing around Will with a duck plushy toy and the audience laughed at Will being terrified by the cute duck plushy. Little did they know he wasn't acting.

And then the acrobats came out. On a high place stood Clary and Izzy, Magnus' greatest friends in the place besides Tessa of course.

Clary and Izzy started doing tricks with the trapezes and doing awesome twirls and then high in the air Magnus did a trick to make Izzy disappear and only to be replaced by Jace, the handsome male acrobat. Magnus was sure half of the women in the audience screamed louder when Jace held Clary close and their faces were only millimeters apart. Everyone wanted them to jut kiss already. Magnus included. When their act was ended it was now down to the final trick.

Magnus strutted to the middle of the stage. Two people in peasant clothes with chains on their hands and feet and also neck were rushed in. They were begging and whimpering. They were part of the act and were acting.

"Oh please great Magnus, don't feed us to him!" Camille, the woman pleaded.

"We'll do anything you'll ask Magnus. We swear!" Victor, aka Aldertree begged.

"You're lying to me. The great and powerful Magnus!" Magnus voice boomed making everyone on the edge of their seats.

"Now face the wrath of Chairman Meow!" Magnus announced and in walked tiny cat and everyone started laughing. Chairman sat in a bucket in front of the two begging.

"You dare laugh at Chairman?" Magnus announced and turned to the cat. "Chairman. Show them your true form!" Magnus said loudly and waved his hands around and the cat grew into a giant black lion. Everyone gasped.

"Chairman" Magnus said and the lion looked at him. Magnus smirked. "Dinner time" Magnus said and the lion growled and then the lights went off and the curtains closed. Magnus smiled and turned everything back to normal. Yes. Magnus had actual magic.

Magnus walked into his trailer and sat down with a sigh. His last night here was amazing. He wiped off his makeup and put on a more natural glittery look. He took off his tight clothes and shoes and put on baggy maroon sweatpants and put on a blue bathrobe and sat down on a couch. He looked around and sighed. He was going to miss this.

Magnus heard a knock on the door so he rushed up and opened the door. In came Clary, Izzy, Jace and Simon, the roadie.

"Magnus! That was amazing! Everyone was so happy!" Clary said and hugged Magnus tightly.

"I know, I'm glad I was able to put on an amazing last performance" Magnus said and hugged her back. When they stopped hugging, he and Izzy hugged and then he shared a bro hug with Jace and Simon.

"You still dead set in leaving?" Jace asked with a sigh. "It's not gonna be the same around here without you Magnus"

"All great things must come to an end, Jace" Magnus reminded.

"Yeah yeah, enough with that cliché bull" Jace mumbled.

Another knock came to the door and when Magnus opened it, he was amazed. A man stood their with black hair and blue eyes, Magnus favorite combination. He stood with Raphael, a great friend of Magnus.

"Ah, Raphael. It's great to see you again" Magnus said and welcomed them in.

"And who is your friend here?" Magnus asked kindly.

"This is Alec, he's never been to a carnival so I decided to show him around. It's a bummer he only got to see your last show in the circus" Raphael said with a shrug and joined everyone else in the kitchen.

"Hello. I'm Magnus" Magnus introduced.

"I'm Alec. I really liked your show. The special effects and stuff was really cool" Alec said and Magnus smirked.

"My dear. We had no special effects" Magnus said.

"Um yeah you did. The smoke and flashing lights and changed of people, that's special effect stuff" Alec said, confused.

"That was Magic" Magnus simply said.

"Magic doesn't exist though"

"Magic is real, babe" Magnus said with a smirk and did a wave like motions with his hand and blue sparks appeared and then danced around Alec. Alec stared at it dumbfounded.

Jace walked in. "Magnus, you're out of mangos" Jace said and Magnus rolled his eyes. He did the cuckoo finger motion with his finger that had the full finger ring on and pointed to Jace while Alec watched. He walked into the kitchen and restocked the fridge with mangos for Jace.

Alec watched Magnus, he was already curious and wanting to know more about the man.
